Description
Dissatisfied with his low-paying menial job, gifted engineer Abe Jenkins turned to a life of crime, creating an insect-themed armoured battlesuit and taking on the moniker of the Beetle. Success continued to elude him however, until he was recruited by Baron Zemo to take part in his latest plot. Taking on new heroic identities, Zemo's team would fool the public into loving them while they secretly prepared their evil schemes.

For his part as a Thunderbolt, Jenkins built himself a new battlesuit and took on the role of Mach-1. As the Thunderbolts continued to fight crime however, Jenkins found himself growing more accustomed to being a good guy. Eventually he and the other Thunderbolts turned on Zemo, with Abe claiming leadership of the team and rebuilding it as group where reformed supervillains could atone.

Over the years Abe has continually improved his suit, going through Mach-2, 3 and IV models. Currently he operates as a supporting member of the Thunderbolts in his new heavily-armoured and armed Mach-V suit.
