It’s almost like you spent the majority of your life in a situation where some unknowable being did inexplicable things to you against your will or something.
I think this is the first time we’ve seen Sans glowing white! In this case it’s for shock/zoning out. There’ve been glimpses of it with Papyrus but this feels like the first time it’s shown up for real. Blue is a self-comfort color for Sans and purple is fear, as a reminder. He’s going through a lot of emotions right now.
Why does that display look so familiar...?

1 for most animals it does. Sans there can freely choose how to occupy their free time, their job, how to treat their close ones, and a long list of ETC.
2 yes, you DO think that is without question. Even if a different person gets the final word on what you do. In this very comic you can see a lot of thinking that sans is doing by himself and for himself.
3 You exist as something very specific. Too "human" to be considered a mere thing, but too much of a tool to be considered a proper individual. ITs a rough spot.
At the end of the day, its not worse than being a slave, and slave were still humans, even if they rarely got treated as such.

5no one decides what they are thinking, and that much is absolutely obvious in this very comic, also, their degree of control, if it exist, is definitely limited. Otherwise they wouldnt be thinking and learning about this specific subject.
The player itself in undertale controls only one being after all, even if their actions can affect a lot of people. All the others are free to act on their own.
You can fall intro prefeterminism (for example, being doomed to repeat the same day over and over and over, and being killed by the same guy over and over and over) and STILL have a lot of stuff to decide on your own (like how to treat your brother, or what do you want to have for breakfast that day.) I get it, its shocking, and definitely BAD, but that doesnt dehumanize the "game slaves" in the slightest.
