I would love to see this play out where Gaster gets so worried he attempts a pep talk. However, since he's not very good with emotions it just him being really awkward while talking to Sans. Saying all the things he shouldn't say.

...actually, that seems kind of likely. Gaster's been shown to set up situations before, such as hurting Papyrus to force Sans to learn to heal. With how stressed he was getting with all that stuff, and Sans' test results and mood dropping below 0, I think he'd try to provoke a reaction out of him. Kind of like how Sans provokes it from Gaster.

It's getting really interesting! Here is the real Sans, right?
I like the fact that, even if Gaster feels (more "felt" now) bothered by Sans' comments, he gets used to this and honestly, he likes talking with him. Sans is smart and he's an interesting person to have a discussion with. Now that's Sans has emotional problems, each bad action of Gaster will become an important risk for Sans' sake.
Maybe I'm cruel or I'm going to far, but... suicidal thoughts? So lifeless that... well, he doesn't care about live anymore. He lives only to protect his brother.
