robynred had a line a fic where Gaster kept downloading toolbars and getting viruses and it reminded me of this great exchange . Not quite the same but the spirit is there! In the future Papyrus does the same thing on everyone's vagueblogs.Alphys set up and took his profile pic for him, she told him peace signs were cool. Everyone does peace signs! They took it in the throne room while Asgore was away. Gaster is an uppercaser, as he's stated before .

It actually works out perfectly - Gaster eventually falls into the CORE, leaving Alphys free to be with Undyne! It's a win/win!

Also, I feel bad for Gaster. He has Alphys, Asgore, and probably Toriel saying he's so good, while he does all that terrible stuff to the skelebros. I bet he inwardly flinches every time they say stuff like that, just like he flinches when Papyrus shows him love. not LOVE tho! You should've just pressed that mercy button, G. It would've been a lot easier for everyone.

I've been thinking too much about this interpretation of Gaster.
for all atrocities he's committed towards skelebros, he stays somehow... sincere? honest about it? given that as the time went, he learned skelebros are intelligent, G could brainwash them easily. imagine him talking to Paps in a "big secret" fashion that they're super important, secret weapons and a fate of whole world lays upon their best behavior. Paps, with his ego and so would be more than eager to follow every procedure, even the most horrible. with sans he could put him into good old mental abuse, with "oh no, you're so weak, but don't worry, if you just try, you can be helpful, just - try hard and sit still while this GINORMOUS LAZOR explodes into your cranium - awww, you see, good boy, with attitude like that you can be the key to happiness for all the Underground!" sorts of shit.
so, while I'm not approving this abuse, at least I'm grateful he doesn't slip into manipulating stuff.

It's hard to see, but gaster is a caring individual. i said it's hard to see, because it IS visible.
How many times has he flinched whenever papyrus showed him love?
i won't even start on every time he's trembling after every traumatic chapters he inflicts on the bros.
i won't even start, because i also noticed how much frequent it has become.
How much he also smokes to calm his nerves.
We don't have to see his face to notice how all of this affects him negatively.
He hates doing all the bad he does, but won't ever admit it for the sake of his cause.
...Whatever that cause is.

did they? either way, given this AU's circumstances, i'm pretty sure it wouldnt be Papyrus considering he and his brother r still children and i doubt Gaster would allow them anywhere near his computer(s) in the Lab...unless this is on one of Gaster's "Pacifist Runs" and he lets the boys do what they want freely
