Although he sometimes comes off as cold and distant, Noctis generally has a kind and gentle demeanor and a strong sense of compassion and understanding. He does, however, have a bit of an ill-temperament that tends to fog his judgement, causing him to act rashly. He is very cautious of mostly everyone he encounters, but he can be a very fierce ally if they manage to gain his trust... and an even fiercer foe for those who don't.
