"I'm telling you, aliens are REAL!" said the young lady serving drinks at the tavern. It was the fourth or fifth person in town who had said something to the same effect. "I don't mean that they are from across the sea, I mean they came from the moon!" So what? A slight variation-- possibly a totally false statement, but interesting anyway. Others said things like, "they come from between the hours of the day" and "they came here before this town was built, but they came from the bad part of the heavens" Regardless, the reward was handsome for whoever would take it.Just outside the cavern where most of the terrified rumors led, a campfire flickering up against the smoke rising through the forest canopy leads you (please describe your character a little, and it needs to be a new one for this RP please) to a figure seated on a log, his back turned, sipping from a large drinking gourd. His hair is spiky like straw and apparently colored the same. Before long his flickering blue eyes turned from the fire and he looked out, not seeing, but hearing you. "You can come out now. You're not an alien are you?"
(Please, new characters for this rp only. Or at least rp as if they are-- I don't care. The way I'd like this to go is to dungeon crawl and fight monsters and have some action adventure. There are opportunities for being transformed into various things, or having curses occur. Let me know your ideas either in a note or in comment, the more the merrier. Since I have a bias toward TG and TF I'll put a tag in for that as well, but there will be no pokemon tf's under any circumstances. Also please try and keep it sort of D&D flavored. So, get turned into an elf or something, not sonic the hedgehog, okay?)

He nodded. "well, between the two of us we will need to be careful. You never know what will try and attack once we get in the cave. maybe we will need to go back and get someone with a sword if things get too hairy" he said, lacking confidence.

she smiled "have a little confidence my friend. We have our skills. besides, the pen is mightier than the sword anyways"

He leaned forward, putting one leg up, smiling. "sure, know any poems?" He noticed it was getting late.

she smiled a bit "I know a few~"

He smiled at her playfulness. "Well, we should get along then. And to bed with me. We have a short road to travel tomorrow, but it will be harder than most long" He uncrossed his leg and went into the dark to relieve himself. He thought about enchanting the water or doing something to flirt with her, but thought against it. Who knows, at the last minute, she might turn him into something unnatural and take the money for herself?
Tailor came back to the fire and began to unravel his bed roll.

Meredith smiled a bit. While she had used her transformation magic on people, those were harmless pranks. She wouldn't have double crossed him like that.
(is it okay if I eventually bring my slime boy by the name of sewie into this?)

(only if I don't have to know anything about his background. I would rather that characters come in as they are part of this story and not get any special treatment/introductions.
He let the fire die down a bit. "you gonna be okay?" he said, noticing she was watching it and watching him intently. then he went around the borders of the meadow and laid down a protection spell. There was a soft hum at first and then it faded. An interesting side effect was that mosquitoes also seemed to leave the area, or at least stopped biting on occasion. He began to lay down.

Meredith blushed a bit but nodded "yeah. I'm fine." she said as she yawned and stretched

He passed out until the sun came up.

she slowly closed her eyes and drifted off

In the morning, Tailor had some kind of rodent, large and halved sticking out over the fire on sticks and was filling his gourd in the stream with water.

Meredith blinked awake at the smell "m-mmmmm?"

"Wakey wakey" he said casually and finally squatted down next to the fire, took a stick, and began eating.

Meredith got up, looking at it "a rodent?"

He was walking while eating his off the stick now, "it's what's for breakfast, unless you have something better?"

She shrugged and got her own stick

Soon he was ready to put out the fire and they were packed up. "Well, we can't put off going to the cave entrance forever. I mean technically we can. it seems like there's little urgency tied to this job-- not like anything has changed lately..." he rambled sometimes when he was self-conscious. "Ready to go?" he finally sputtered.

He nodded and got his things.
They arrived at the cave entrance within about ten minutes of hiking up a steep face. THere was a trail coming from it and splitting up, spreading off all over. "Seems like it's just an animal trail, not an ALIEN trail, you know?" he said, more relaxed now.

Meredith chuckled a bit. "I really only sort of half believe this whole alien thing right now~"

Inwardly, Tailor didn't either, but he wondered out loud, "say it is true. Often truth is somewhere at the root of myths and legends.

"I'm... not sure I follow"

He stepped up to the mouth of the cave and looked in. It wasn't well trodden, but there was a path that led toward the back where there seemed to be a dripping, trickling sound. Like a tiny waterfall. He proceeded down the path. "Well, if people believe in aliens and say they came from space, maybe originally there was someone who came from another land, another kingdom, and maybe he was from a land of open wide spaces" he turned to see if she was following.

Meredith was following, practicing caution. "so you think he's simply not from around here?"

"Could be from the lands to the far south. You hardly hear about anyone from there up here. I've read about them in my wizard tower (he seemed to like talking about his wizard tower) and it's common that people misread them for gods or demons in other places. Why not aliens here?" he stepped down past a bubbling spring and into a glob of something green and glowing. "hmph"

He looked down and tried stomping it off. It came off with ease. But then began moving on it's own toward the water. "what the"

it was small now, but it would grow quite a bit from absorbing the water

"Uh oh..." He began whispering an arcane spell and a glowing orb of coldness formed in his hands. "ready?"

Meredith nodded as the blob bubbled a bit... it sounded like a human trying to talk with liquid surrounding him

"Well, this is an unusual beast, that's for sure" he said before the bubbling began, and listened to it. " what's it saying?"

just then it seemed to try to form a head. it was a blob around human size... but still a pile of goo "hbluhberubhlellp mblellrblreulbrelbulue" he tried to say help me, but it was muffled by his bubbles and gurgles

The young man wizard tossed the cold ball as best he could at the creature, landing a shock of frost and ice around the base of the slime. "That should slow it down...what do you suppose it's trying to say?" he pulled a stone out of his pocket and said a few words before rubbing it. "it's asking us to help it!" he had enchanted the stone to translate.

the blob of goo bubbled weakly forming what looked like a face. from what he could tell, this was a young boy, around fifteen years of age. he was once human, likely cursed by a witch. This also meant that it would take far more than transmutation magic to break it.

He frowned. "Meredith...this is not monster, this is a cursed child" he felt funny calling him a child, since he wasn't probably too much younger than himself. The wizard stepped back. "can you understand me?" he said to the blob. He noticed the ice was only lasting for a few minutes.

The blob nodded the best he could

"Um...how long have you been this way?" he was curious whether the boy felt like he was in immediate need of being cured.

He bubbled and gurgled still trying to form some kind of shape. Clearly he wasn't used to this

Tailor frowned. "Well, we are currently on a quest...do you want to wait here for us to get back?" he glanced at meredith.

He then leapt for meredith. "dblurblubn't lublubebelbrubleve mueblebe." He troed to say "don't leave me"

"wow stay back" said Tailor, summoning another frost bolt. He tried to shove meredith out of the way with his shoulder.

Meredith gasped a bit. "Tailor wait!"

"wha...?" the ball of snapping cold was already out of his hand, but it wasn't headed where it was intended. It landed right on meredith's arm.

She eeped but was unharmed due to her fire magic

The resulting vapor cloud made it hard for them to see for a few seconds. "oh I'm so sorry!" said Tailor. "I guess we'll just bring you with us? how about that?" he said, talking to the slime boy.

the boy bubbled but nodded as he still tried to form a shape

Tailor scratched his head. "Maybe we could help you stay together in a human shape...would you want that?" (should we do that?)

He nodded quickly

Tailor looked at Meredith. "do you know any spells for that? maybe we could bind him to a human form, sort of like binding demons? have you ever done that?" he hesitated, as it would require chalk and he wasn't sure if he had any in his bag.
