Description
Over the years I have filled up pages of sketchbooks with fan-art of various comic book/graphic novel characters. Rarely do my own renders fully stick to the standard look. When `jademacalla recently posted some stock images with a bow, it made me revisit my ideas for one of them: Green Arrow (a.k.a. Oliver Queen).

I tend to dislike the gimmicky GA, and am partial to the more realistic bowman that Mike Grell evolved in his 80s miniseries, The Longbow Hunters: [link]

This takes it a little bit further. The bow is neither a true longbow, nor much of anything else, but I wanted to not spend a lot of time, as much as get the idea down and hammer it into a somewhat resolved quality (so it is a little rough on quite a few edges). Its pencil, acrylics, gouaches, copics, pro-white, brush pens and digital.

I happen to like GA largely based on the Grell interpretation of him, and my interest (albeit a largely dormant one for years) in archery itself. Enjoy.
