I've been wanting to try a vector submission for a while now, so this is kinda my first try at a full blown vector only piece. The piece was completed in Adobe Illustrator CS. I used to use this app. ALL the time in a previous job, so it was refreshing to get back into it and try all the groovy new features available, like soft shadows and stuff.

The face is from a very close friend of mine Amy ( *dualdesigns ) and I've been wanting to do something with her for a while because she has such a fabulously expressive face.

Overall I like the results here, although I have a nagging doubt that either it needs to be a lot simpler, or have a lot more detail in it. I suspect that this is probably version one... you know me, never happy
