It's very simple and it's something we have to remind ourselves. Starlight is a pony, not a human. We've seen several times in the show ponies lose their minds and overreact to situations, like screaming in horror from a standpede and such. As well, our main six have sometimes gone off the deep end themselves when a perceived threat to their prospective herd {their friends, since ponies are a herd species} tries to break it apart, or in fact, does so like with Moondancer.
Starlight's actions, while apprehensible in some serious respects, she had the best intentions at heart. {Cue JP3 about what that can lead to} The ponies of 'Town' all came willingly. Given ponies have such a desire to group up with prospective others, this wouldn't be hard and the more she gathered, the more secure Starlight became now that she was part of a herd again. There really wasn't anything preventing them from simply leaving, especially with no night guards or Fluttershy would have been caught. When Twilight and co. took her second prospective herd away, Starlight snapped and wanted to hurt Twilight and her friends for what they did, only being coerced back from it later on after seeing the consequences.
Twilight was smart to use that moment to get to her, since Starlight was emotionally weak at that moment and was more willing to listen since her instinctual nature was screaming in the back of her mind to find another herd.

Lol, whut. This is a children's show. They are personified characters, it has nothing to do with herds or any natural equine behavior. As for the village, it became apparent that no body there was really happy. They admitted that they were pretty miserable.

Are you a moron? Her first reason of even having that village was because she got burned over a silly thing in the past. Not even that, but once she realized what her actions was doing, she was still going to fuck up the future of Equestria by ripping the only time spell and keeping it fucked up. Do you even have the brain power to think properly?

Twilight didn't destroy the village, she only incited a revolution. Although, you're right that it was more of a progression of incidents and backstories. No need to be uncivil here, though.

She didn't know she was destroying Equestria. All she thought she was doing was getting revenge on Twilight for dismantling her village. The whole boy thing was her motivation for founding the town, not for the time travel and all that.
