wow, the level of detail is amazing, and the render feels a lot more 'realistic' than most of the others do.

though the parts with less detail seem too plain in relation to the rest of the piece

I rarely go for the abstract 3d stuff since it's usualy rather uninventive, but this is really rather nicely done. I like the model, it looks some real attention was given to it, and it's not just a bunch of 3d shards and what not. Also the lighting effects are pretty well done too.
