Why, NO problem at ALL! By the way, I wrote a little something in my spare time at three this morning. I think you'll find it useful as an artist, and possibly infuriating as a human being. Regardless, here you go.

In response to "Acid Dreams"

The psychedelic composition drawn in blue ink (posted the 16th of march 2010) caught my attention two days ago. My first impression from the small view was skepticism; a title including iconic phrases such as, "Acid," and "Dreams." In my search of art about deviant art, I have seen the two words used seperately and also in conjunction with eachother, with widely varying results. One instance had used the word "Acid" as a hook, or "trap" to increase views. the previously mentioned article was shoddy and "kinda neat" at best. However on the other end of the spectrum, the use of the word "Acid"(results may vary as acid is less than always used to refer to LSD) is completely legitimate, where there is a free-flow of colors or space, a general theme that encompasses the body of the work, and some unseen element that the unique artist contributes to the work. The same scenario goes for dreams; some use the word as an excuse to disregard all conventions and standard boundaries without having any subject content that is unique.
That being said, the current work in question passed the typical three-second quality judgement test. But for a further review, the full view offered more detail. The first thing I notice is the varying style of shading from object to object. Looking closely at the shading lines and the juxtaposed detail lines, the general signature of marking the paper is gradually changing across the page, if not around the center. Although it takes some effort to see the finer details as intentional marks, doing so can provide insight into the central message of the drawing. There are several motifs to observe. The progression of objects changing into components of a larger pattern (a prime example is found many times in the upper left hand side moving downwards), the central silhouette figure from which(or from behind which) the patterns seem to emanate, the archaic stream of numbers and figures(this particular motif brings a sense of hidden knowledge or wisdom; a positive attribute), and of course, the eyes. The eyes... Sight or lack thereof plays a huge role in symbolizing psychedelic conciousness and dream conciousness. Coupled with the geometric and line designs found throughout the drawing, the eyes accentuate the drawing's atmosphere. A small detail I noticed, very rare but a motif nonetheless, is the eye turning into a strand of DNA.
In closing, I would assess this drawing as a movement in the right direction in terms of psychedelic and dream conciousness art. Although the overall picture is scratchy and absent of color(with the exception of blue, possibly the most encompassing color in it's own right), it bears a resemblence to the progress of a subconcious mind, and is one of my favourite drawings this month. It rivals the poppish color-saturated photoshopped "Psychedelic" pictures because it brings the same effect through patterns and motifs, in a much more conventional manner. In an art community where more stream-lined and color-explosive are considered "artistically superior," I would have to choose conventional hand-drawn pictures, like the one in question.
I would like see more drawings of this nature; drawings with unique significance that manually pry open the realm of the unconcious and tediously transfer a concept piece by piece.
In closing, I know what you're up to. Well played, worthy adversary.

I am entirely speechless! Thank you so very very much for putting in the time and effort to not only view my work in detail but critique it so in depth. I'm completely at loss for words, thank you SO much!
I woke up this morning and this message was the first thing I read, needless to say it's put a brilliant spin on my day! Sorry for the slower reply, work intervened.

Once again thank you so much for this, the world needs more people who see past the first three seconds. You sir, are one of those people and I respect you to no end.

Thank you
