Wow, I think it's great you want to help people out on their work. I read that long comment on ~Invader-Sam 's gallery and found myself agreeing. Woot's and awesomes merely boost egos, not help an artist.

Maybe you could drop by my gallery sometime and pick out some general mistakes in my work. I'm sure you'll find some :3 Drawing and art isn't just a hobby for me, it's a lifelong dream of mine and I would love to carry it on further. :3

Hi! You commented on my art... 'attempt at anime' I think it was o.O. I appreciate your comment, and it's nice to actually see some constructive criticism around this site. I've not been here for too long, and I'm just starting out with the whole art...thing - or, at least, posting it publically. I'm not sure if this is asking a little too much, since I'm sure you're kinda busy, but it would be great if you could outline what the flaws were. I'd love to improve, but I can only do it with the right amount of criticism...right? I dunno...as I mentioned earlier, I'm pretty new here, so there's probably a ton of things I have to learn. Thanks for your time!

Hey, I think it's awesome that you're giving tips and stuff to people. I totally agree with what you said about a lot of comments (and I mean in general, not just in invader-sam's gallery) being fairly pointless. I always love to get comments from friends and others, but it's definitely the best to receive good advice.

Bumped me up to "ten page views?" That's sort of insulting, and nowhere in my critiques did I either insult you, nor use harsh words, nor completely bash your work.

What I was doing was giving constructive comments, most of them small, to help your pieces. A lot of them were, for example, adding a thumb, for god's sake, or just cropping the bottom off of a picture.

As far as targeting you, perhaps my reasoning was that you have the most room plus talent for improving, which is why I made my comments in the first place.

Questioning my credentials? Does this mean that Van Gogh, if he were alive, would have no credentials if he came onto this site, started critiquing things, and had only been here a day? Are you establishing that credentials are based on time online? I work - I do commissioned pieces, hence the lack of anything in a gallery, here, or anywhere else online. I also think the Internet is a poor medium for exposure, as most people either don't have the intelligence, the time, or the guts to give solid critiques, nor do many of them purchase anything - the majority of the comments I have seen here, and in your gallery, are something along the lines of "Woot, 's awesome." Is this constructive? I don't think so. Is it helpful? Not really. However, it does serve to enhance said artist's ego, which is why I think people enjoy these online galleries so much in the first place.

My goal, with this little "project," I'm calling it, is to visit an online gallery : DeviantArt, in this case, and give actual critiques to people, specifically ones who I think could be improved with minor adjustments, i.e. you.

As far as drawing for yourself - I respect that, and some artists can survive as so called "deviants." However, a lot of what people do in art is subjective. If someone doesn't like your work, they're not going to buy it. If someone doesn't like the way you animate, they're not going to hire you - a sad fact of life, is that you have to have money to survive (unless you do some moonlighting... which I don't know about you, but I don't enjoy very much...).

Hopefully you'll take comments like these seriously, they can be really helpful for the most part. Sadly, there are far too few people on this site who are willing to go that far...

I think you were trying to be helpful with your comments, but it just didn't happen. And the fact that you've only been on the sight for a day doesn't help your credentials. Did it ever occur to you that I draw for myself and not to please people I don't even know?

Now I've gone through all your other comments and none of them are as nit-picky as the ones you gave me, and none of them sound quite so mean. Is that intentional or what? Do you have something against me, because I can't remember ever doing anything to you. If I did something to provoke those actions, I'm sorry.
