It's extremely hard to get your point across without misinterpretation when you can't input your tone of voice. I choose the words to put into text, not the way you interpret them. Without tone of voice, your meaning can be easily lost and distorted, eventually transforming from a friendly joke into an act of hatred in the mind of the reciever. It was a joke, I meant no offense.
