I'll be stationary for a good while. Obligations and shiz. I douuubt you'll be headin' North East since winter is almost upon us, but if you ever are, hit me up on here or on my facebook. My buddies around here like to hang out, but they just don't know what it is to be a shwilly kid

Never was too much of a fan of the northeast. Ill actually be driftin around central europe for a while and then when I get back Im going from Arkansas to Florida to New Orleans to Mexico.
Ready to expand my horizons beyond the US for al ittle bit.

It's hard to leave the life. My heart is always yearning, but it doesn't know for what. When I'm on the road, I feel "real" but I also feel like something isn't as it should be. When I'm home and working to get back into college, I feel like I'm doing something important, but -nothing- feels real.

I came back here for a year and got a job and whatnot but I just felt like I was doing it cuz everyone else wanted me to or because I felt it was normal or whatever.
I sorta fell into dereliction drinking and sleeping under bridges everyday and it got pretty bad...but I was also a good bit happier and the people seemed more genuine. Not fake and obsessed with status objects or position.
I came back here to sorta "get my shit together" so to say but after a while I fell into this dull routine and felt very stagnate, as if my life had come to a stand still. Sure I got physically healthier but I think mentally I got worse.

I feel the saaame way, except that I felt (was healthier, besides the drinking and drugs) healthier on the road. I walked everywhere, ate minimally, got fresh air 24/7. Plus there was the added bonus of almost zero stress. Without responsibilities, deadlines, obligations, I felt freer and lighthearted. When I'm home I get lazy; I sit around or drive, eat more, go outside less, and feel all the pressures of "mainstream society" that generally just bring ya down.
Which places have you been that are you favorite (thus far)?

I wasnt eating enough when I was drifting though. I drank heavily, wasnt eating or often couldnt find adequate food and it got to the point where my ribs were showing.
There are things that make me unhealthy in the "real world" though. Well I guess I do just as much partying when Im housed up as when Im not...but it's an entirely different kinda partying. More drugs, less drinking. Spend too much time on the computer. When I was hiking 30 miles a day with a huge pack I definitely was in much better shape in that aspect. More active.
I loved the zero stress aspect. Nothing to worry about. Nowhere to be. No deadlines. Just got to do everything at my own leisure. All I really thought about was finding food and a 40 and that didnt take too much effort depending on where I was.
Hawaii and Oregon were my favorites though Ive been to 46 states and several countries.
Once I get back to the US I plan to hit the gem and mineral trail. I recently acquired a station wagon and want to go to several mines and sell the minerals at various festies.

ohhh I'm so jealous right now. First, you made it to wayyy more places than I've been to so far, and second, I've always wanted to hit up some mines. The people I was with never wanted to seek them out, though. I've looked up some places near me that have yielded special rocks in the past, but besides some random spots and the herkimer diamond mine, upstate NY isn't exactly the gem hunters paradise.

Yeah, I realize that. The folder I added it to was supposed to have a / between artisan and jewelry, intending a folder that was not only jewelry, but all kinds of artisan crafts. <_< But uh, I guess you can't have / in a title.

Enjoyed your Of History and Souls literary piece. Its title caught my eye. I like to write, too (amongst many other things, most all having to do with the arts).
Watching you and will look forward to seeing what you come up with next!
Keep on creating...

I like the movie, The Legend of 1900, too. That is the one about the pianist who lives on a ship, and never leaves it, isn't it?
