Prepare yourself for adventure!
You awaken in a small clearing in a snow-covered forest. It's nighttime, and bitterly cold, but the sky is cloudless and clear, allowing you to see fairly well by the light of the full moon. One of the first things you notice is that the main reason you're very cold is because you're completely naked.
You know almost nothing about where you are, who you are, or how you got here. You do however, know two spells. Ray of Frost will cause a brief burst of ice-cold energy that damages and makes targets feel sluggish. The other spell is Charm, which can perform minor illusions, conjure small objects, and sometimes change the nature of objects. (Ex: a feather into a quill, a rock into a pillow, etc.)

"where on earth is my clothing" I think, curling up. already i had little protecting from my own cold...
Getting an idea, i cast charm on myself. not to give myself clothing; as i lack the required confidence, but to temporarily remove whatever needs to be covered by underwear.
Without an annoyingly sensitive area between my legs, I step around, looking for somewhere warmer.

You look around, but you are in the middle of a forest. At the moment, there doesn't seem to be any cave or shelter nearby. You do notice that you're on a mountain, and close to the peak if you're not mistaken.

You continue down the mountain. Soon, you notice something in the corner of your vision. Under the base of a cliff, there's a dark spot that hints at the presence of a cave.

Not even sure how it works i make my way towards it, running as best as i can with this awkward gait

When you arrive, you find that this is no ordinary cave. This is the entrance to a dwarven stronghold! You have to enter the cave a little ways before you see the white marble gates, which hang halfway open. The doors are carved with bas relief carvings of dwarves, their great double-bladed axes planted defiantly in the ground. There's very little light, and you have a hard time seeing things.

"as expected, they're dwarves. they see metal." I think, walking closer in. I keep to the right side of the cave, hand on its wall as to not lose where am.

Surprisingly, you hear nothing. Normally, you recall, there would be some lighting, even though dwarves need less light than humans to see clearly. This city, or small town as it more closely resembles, is pitch dark. [The charm spell can also produce some light.]

Seeing no loose debris around and cursing the lack of food in my stomach slowing my thought, i cast charm on my hand and point it up and forward.
what do i see?

You point the light upward toward the ceiling. It's tall, but not as tall as a human might build it. You gather maybe twelve feet above your head. Ahead of you, there's a grand staircase that leads down, into some kind of broad, open area, littered with something... some kind of debris is all you can make out from here.

I descend quickly, the relative warmth of the cave and dwarven design of the place causing me interest and dulling my inhibitions, from being cold and naked though technically decent. I had been fascinated by their engineering for the longest time, finally exposed to it now.

You descend the stair. Sadly this was not a particularly prosperous town, and though the architecture is nice, it amounts to little more than a room underground. In the lower section of the town, you find the broken and looted remnants of a market district, the colorful fabric of the market stalls is laying draped over the desks and stands. You also see several shapes lying on the ground.

More preoccupied with something to keep myself warm, i search said stalls for something wearable.
no matter what i find, only then do i point my glowing hand at the shapes on the ground.

You do find some trousers, a shirt, and a coat. The trousers were meant to fit a dwarf, however, and they're barely shorts to you. They're also quite a bit too wide, but you have a belt made of leather and metal. The shirt nearly exposes your midriff, and the coat comes only to the bottom of your ribs.
You look down at the ground and examine one of the bodies. An ugly, green, round-headed corpse with a big mouth full of sharp teeth, and pointed ears.

"seems enough like goblins" I think, looking at exactly how they died.
(is it safe to assume my character knows as much about the general fantasy setting as i do?)

Examining the body, it becomes obvious that this goblin met his death by the blade. A huge gash splits his chest open raggedly. He's carrying a blade of his own, an ugly, poorly built thing.

I pick up the gobllin blade, measuring it against my arm. "a bad sword is better than no sword" i think, exploring deeper.
now that i have an item, i silence the glow on my hand, casting the same on my sword. (if i *can* call it that
