id give some recommendations, but most fo the ones i know are galge (geared towards guys)
only Otome i can think of is Hakuouki, or just neutral VNs like Higurashi/Umineko (which i recommend you play)

However in terms of story, good VN's i've played are Tsukihime and Fate/Stay Night (theyre kind of the standard, and have an option to turn off hte Ero scenes (they don't really add anything besides fan service anyways)), for romance, theres Katawa Shoujo (a free VN that had me in tears during a number of the routes). Also, Clannad is good, same with Little Busters, both of which have a good story.
