I've only been lucid dreaming for a short time, so I'm still learning.
I don't use any specific methods, just reality checks throughout the day. Do you use any special methods?

Nice! I've been a lucid dreamer for almost 8-9 years now.. (almost a veteran! hehe! :P (Lick) ).
I used a few special methods in the beginning, mainly trying to find my hands in dreams ("Carlos Castaneda - The Art of Dreaming" technique) and read many related books.. One recommended is "Stephen LaBerge's - Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming", but you can find lucid dreaming related material through internet easily.. ;) (Wink)

In my opinion you don't need to use special techniques, just to have a huuuge desire to lucid dream!! (become obsessed hehe!) That worked for me..

Wow, that's a long time Oh Noes! how did you find out about it?
I've heard of the book by Stephen LaBerge, but if I need advice I usually just go to dreamviews.com, I think all the information you need is right there.
And yeah, I've found that when you just think of lucid dreaming a lot throughout the day, it works way better than all the techniques that people talk about on the internet. I find those quite scary, mainly because there's a bigger chance of getting sleeping paralysis, which REALLY scares me. It happened to me once while trying FILD (finger induced lucid dream, don't know if you've ever heard of that technique) and I don't want that ever again.
