I had this wonderful, well-thought-out reply that I wanted to send, but my browsers keep crashing on me. The concise version is:
-I see where you're coming from,
-Hearing it from strangers really is confusing, since you don't know if they're for real about it,
-Some people are so versed in their faith that they believe simply wishing well is an insult, when they can appeal to The Highest Power for your blessing,
-Said people don't believe prayer to just be a ritual to make themselves feel better, like a lot of "Christians," today,
-I no longer wish for luck or other things, and make effort to pray for someone when I say I will, because simple lip-service and surface-only Christianity agitates me.
Thank you for being polite, and being thoughtful. Seeing someone do that is a refreshing oasis in the negative land that is the Internet.

Just took a look at your profile. The fact you're home schooled explains a lot, and why you believe what you believe.
I'm going to give you some advice by asking you to do yourself a favor: If you're being taught about Creationism and how science is b.s. by your parents, do yourself a favor and go read/buy some science books, particularly biology. We have reasonable explanations for a lot of things in our world and in the universe. And I can tell you right now, if you continue to gobble up the b.s. that is creationism and everything else related, it is going to screw you over for life, and the only thing you'll be able to do is preach the same b.s. to other people. Because no one will take your education seriously.
Now, if you found out about Creationism on you own and not from your parents, then you can ignore some of what I said above. But I would still implore that you go out and learn about what science has to offer. Science is the reason why we have all these wonderful things like computers and the internet. And to dismiss some of it, (i.e. biology and evolution like creationism does.) is to dismiss all of it. It's foolish.
Just trust me on this. You don't have to give up your religion, just go and learn about science.

Make no mistake, sir, indoctrination is no reason behind why I believe what I believe. To be truthful, I was pulled into homeschool, and instructed to get the information out of the books myself. My parents are only responsible for the reporting of my grades to the Coalition in the nearby metroplex. And my parents, by no means are into the idea that science is B.s. I love science, but the more I look into it, the more it leads me to believe all of the systems it consists of to be observations of construction by a divine force.
Now, I believe in Creationism because it makes sense to me in how the world came to be. Biology does far more in favor of Creationism than it does in favor of evolution. Evolution, because of how it came to be, holds no water to me, due to the fact that the man behind it assumed it to be the explanation based only on visual observation of creatures throughout the Galapagos. I also cannot stand behind it because of the racist theories that compose parts of it (i.e: the belief that black people are subhumans that occurred before the "fully evolved" white man.)
To cast my faith only in God is satisfactory for Him, but I believe Christians to be called to be able to give an answer for their faith, which is a necessary thing in this far more educated day and age.
Mine factors the archaeological validity of the Bible, the scientific validity of a Master Designer responsible for the irreducibly complex systems of biology, chemistry, and physics; and the light burden that is relying on one, supreme Creator as the holder of charge over the universe, rather than pure, unmerciful, freedomless chance.
