I think there are many ways to improve, but some ways don't feel right for you, so just try to find that one way that feels good (at least to me art should be a positive thing). You could try to draw from a model (many people draw something quick in like 5 minutes every day, like some lines of a human etc. 'cause eventually you get better at it), some people do studies (draw a lot of hands, legs, animals etc. to learn, but I always found drawing from a model boring, so it's not for me) and then there's a lot of drawing tutorials that may help.
What I have find useful is sketching. A lot. (Well, pretty much the more you draw, the more you improve.) Sometimes looking at my old(ish) art works to realize what I'm doing wrong with anatomy. Redrawing old pics sometimes helps even more, the difference can be huge. Drawing from a model and just practising WOULD be great for me as well, but like said, I don't find drawing from a model all that interesting. :I If you're having trouble with colouring, maybe start with just black and white pics and go on from there? Has helped me (aand doesn't kill all my tools at the progress of trying to figure out how to colour different stuff).
Some people find it useful to try new things, new tools, new things to draw and paint, it helps them to sort of.. find out what they want to do with their art. But most of all I think people should just keep on drawing. You're not going to get better if you give up, and giving up on drawing, if it's fun for you, just because there's people better than you (by the way, there's always people better than you), is just.. a damn shame. And if you're like.. idk. 15-20 or so, which most of people are here, you've got nothing to worry about, you've got plllleeennnty of time to improve, some people here have found out at the age of 40 they want to draw, and they're amazing and having fun!
