and how I was watching! I just finished analyzing your whole gallery on my projector with a cup of tea on the couch. Its amazing how some people can create such nice pictures with such a simple illustration style. With a great sense for color themes and understanding of light and athmosphere you can go a long way!

So, what, people are recognizing thoughts in your artwork that never crossed your head? =o) Most successful artist probably experience that. After all, every person comes from a different background and interprets stuff in a totally different way. My art teachers were also very good at crediting me for "very clever" design choices where I would just had to say "hum... ok.. yeah... that's what I was thinking!" =o)

Well, when I look at your art, one thing comes across very clearly: You like to focus on the bright sides of life and you like to portrait love in all of its poses. What makes your art charismatic is the variety of situations in which you identify or imagine it. Your scenes and situations are very diverse, almost as if you have nothing better to do than to walk around with a snap shot camera and capture love wherever you see it, and then make a painting out of it. But although the randomness of the situations would support that theory, I think this stuff really all comes out of your head. And that makes it even better =o).

You're right on the nose! Actually, when I read your comment earlier today I just started laughing and couldn't stop for awhile because of how accurate you were and how well you put it! Plus I couldn't help but imagine me walking about with a camera taking photos and then imagining myself referencing them as I sat down to draw Love it!

Hmm.. I don't really know! I went to the Academy for less than a year and got tired of doing assignments and wanted to do my own thing so I dropped out. I started creating an illustration a day with the help of a mentor and began growing as an artist... I am by no means where I want to be, I am still learning, making mistakes but I love it all... I've been doing art as a professional for less than a year, probably since April/May pretty seriously.
I don't really know what my niche is, I just know that I try to be happy and make others happy through art.

But I guess there's always still a difference between the niche that you want to be in and the niche that you find yourself falling into. There are a lot of computer graphic things that I know how to do and am pretty good at, but when I find myself gasping at peoples amazing digital illustrations (the coolest ones are the fictional environmental paintings like imaginary future city scape matte paintings) I know that I should tend to the spider webs on my wacom tablet.

Much of your artwork looks like simple vector art. How do you fill our shapes? They look a little like plain gradients, or maybe lightly tweaked gradient meshes from illustrator. But their contours have painterly qualities to them.

i actually use flash - i do a simple sketch in flash, then i lay over it by painting in flash - but its vector painting. its kinda weird, but it works! i do a lot of the gradient and lighting effects in photoshop after ^_^
