Checking out the videos, Looking good. I am attempting to get back into the industry after years away. I'm pretty strong in Photoshop but need to greatly streamline my process from my self taught practices to greatly increase the speed expected of colorists today.

Someone asked a question at one of your Photoshop tutorials videos at Youtube, asking how to save a multi-layered image as a jpeg rather than a tiff file. Is this possible? I'm curious to know this procedure.

Hello, i actually saw your tutorials on youtube, great by the way. I have a question....before adding flats, do i have to add color (any)to the background layer even if i have a objects in the background that should have specific colors. Then apply the correct colors to the objects or does it not matter.

Ok me and my girlfriend just watched your eight part tutorial on coloring comics in photoshop. We are not familiar with CS3 and cannot figure out how to save our file as a jpeg with all channels intact. Every time we try it the pic saves with the color channels only and doesn't bring our black line art in. We have tried flattening the image and still nothing and get the error file must be saved as a copy for this selection when we try to save as jpg. PPLLLEEEASE HELPE!! The video was awesome by the way, I feel like my girlfriend is a pro now!

How does this work? How do you work together, who acts as editor, how is the work schedule worked out with everyone possibly on different time lines and/or different time zones, does this get published, is there any compensation, do we decide on the project or assigned?
Kinda confused how all that works out.

OvergroundComics In reply to DubuGomdori [2010-05-11 14:38:35 +0000 UTC]
Wow! That's a lot of questions
At his point this project it all about personal development. Your involvment is voluntary, and at your own discretion. At the moment we are only in our second week, so we're just encouraging everyone to do some basic sketches and drawings of the characters involved. We'll probaly start piecing together some projects in another week or two. As far as compensation goes, there currently isn't a plan to monetize this project, but you never know where it will go, but no works would ever be published by us without the permission or agreement of everyone involved. Also, in this phase if you have an idea for a project you want to do involving our approved chracter pool, you're encouraged to suggest it. Basically the purpose of this effort is just to bring together fellow deviants into organized efforts that can positively develop their skills and talents. We'll have more structured activities in the coming weeks, but for now I'd say just browse the character database: [link] ,find somebody you'd like to draw, and start drawing. The rest will fall into place shortly. Please let me know if you have any more questions.
