And unfortunately it doesn't notify us via email when a message comes in.  That would be ideal.  
I agree that this site is a major time burner.  It's great for the evenings when art is just too much work, but you still want to look at other people's work.

I actually kind of like hanging out here, in spite of the shortcomings of the site (and the immense volume of crude selfies and creepy people).  I've found a good number of artists I like to follow (I'm sure there are more, but then I'd be overwhelmed), and I like to take time to really absorb people's work and leave either little poems that seem to pop out of my brain, or tell people WHY I like their pieces.  For ME, it gives me a chance to (1) encourage other artists, and (2) see what other people are doing and learn from it.  I like to make connections with people, and believe me, there are some pretty interesting people here.  

But yeah, I have to make sure I don't spend so much time on the computer that i don't spend enough time in the studio....  =8-O

I totally get what you're saying.  You seem like a real sweetheart.  I kind of went through the same thing on Etsy for a while.  I sell my work on there and found myself really enjoying the creativity and ingenuity of others on the site.  I don't come on here all that often, think I went about 3 years at one point.  But then I picked up painting and found it so lovely to see what others were doing and also finding inspiration from other photographers.  
I have yet to run into a creepy person luckily, everyone I've dealt with has been very kind and respectful.

hehe..  Trying to imagine myself as a "sweetheart"... ...but thank you so much.  

Being a guy, I think I'm less sensitive to "creepy" than some of the young ladies I know here, but I have heard some stories from them, or read some fishy smelling comments on some of their photos...

so, blessings on you and your lovely paintings...
