Why is existence so confusing?
You live your life, looking for the one who is right for you or the perfect job or whatever it is that you think you need to make your life complete.
But who says our lives aren’t already complete?
Many of us strive to be good, but in the end what does it truly accomplish?
We spend so much effort trying to express ourselves, but it accomplishes nothing.
Nobody truly cares about our art, whether it’s poetry, drawing, photography, or any other medium.
Only the pretty people get to the “big time”, the “limelight” nowadays, leaving everyone else in the dust.
Didn’t people have to have talent once?
Nowadays the “flavor of the month” artist can produce a work of “art” every few days, without any real effort being put into it, knowing that people will love it.
Knowing that people will love it, not because of the art, but because his name is attached to the mockery that he has made of the true artists, the artists that truly struggle.
The flavor of the month does not think about his future, and spends every cent he earns, not realizing that he will soon be forgotten, as the world moves on to the next flavor of the month.
These “flavors of the month” artists cannot truly produce art, not because they have not felt true pain.
It is said that an artist has to feel pain to produce, and this I say is one of the few truths we have in the world today.
I saw in the news recently this twelve year old girl, who made tens of thousands of dollars off her paintings, individually. She made this money, not because her name was attached to the paintings, but because she was good!
She wasn’t just good, her paintings were amazing!
In my opinion the reason she could produce such great art was because she felt pain.
This little girl was stuck going in and out of hospitals, fighting cancer over and over and over again.
The “flavor of the month” artists can’t match her level of art because they have never felt pain like her.

I don't agree with your rant. i think that people can produce wonderful art, while experiancing dofferent emotions. to say that people are only in it for the fame aspect, i think, is wrong unless you truly know where that persons heart is.

I agree and disagree with your rant, I think there are "flavors of the month." I also think you need to do art for you, though pain is another thing that makes art strong, but its also a matter of understanding your own art, and not caring what others think. The initial reason for creating art is pleasing yourself and no one else.
