I would like to preface the statement of my hypothesis concerning otherkin and therian individuals by saying that I am not doing this to bully, or slander you, only to find an otherkin/therian's views on said hypothesis. My hypothesis is that a considerable amount od Otherkin and Therians are schizophrenic, I propose this idea because schizophrenia has the main symptom of extreme delusions, like for example, legitimately believing that your incorporeal manifestation, or soul, is that of a non human being. These delusions are accompanied by vivid hallucinations, such as for example, feeling a phantom extremity, such as a wing or tail, when in reality, no such thing exists. Another point of evidence for my hypothesis is that schizophrenia often begins to manifest when someone is between sixteen, and twenty, which is around the age of many otherkin and therians that I see on the internet. Note that I am not making a definitive claim stating that otherkin and therianism are the product of a form of psychosis, this is merely a hypothesis. Once again I would like to reiterate that my intentions are not malicious, and that I am doing this to see opinions on my hypothesis, by none other than the subject, otherkin and therian individuals. And so, I bid you to respond, stating your thoughts on my proposition.ο»Ώ (note that I am making an assumption that you are otherkin, I know you may not be, but based on the things you post, I am making an educated guess.)

I could agree with that in ways. Not all therians at least get those phantom shift but it is all mainly based on the belief. One thing I don't understand still are the cases of phantom limbs interacting with the enviroment or even people seeming to notice something about a therian, otherkin, fiction kin and stare at them. These interactions certainly are not common but I think there could be more to it that we don't know. Still there are most likely people with this sort of schizophrenia. But I believe it could have something to do with the soul? Now it does depend if you believe in such things but I've personally experienced haunting in the home way before I knew of therians. Moving objects were not hallucinations either. But also seeing people reflections in the window except the reflection is not the same person and is of someone I know who just died.Β
Apart from that, I know therians get heightened sense and blast of energy. Also some have a strange and close connection to certain animals. Animals seem to act slightly or quit differently around therians. In my case, people's dogs who don't like visitors just seem to really like me. The owners of these dogs always seem quite shocked about it. But also dogs listen to me more that their owners considering I have a soft voice. Once I was also able to predict a dogs intentions to bite someone and saved them.
On the note of fictionkin and otherkin I am neither one so I wouldn't have much to say about those but I respect peoples beliefs if it makes them happy.

Indeed, it is a complex subject. I do believe it may be possible that there is a transcendent element to things that therians experience, the same can apply to many other spiritualities, however like with arguments between creationists and evolutionists, it often comes down to "we don't know, and there is no way to know." as there is no way to measure phenomena that is ethereal, or intangible in nature. However even if such things prove impossible to corroborate, it is at the very least, an interesting subject to ponder.
