Well alot of us that do the Abstract, and 3d like work, do use Photoshop for postwork but not for the main. A lot of people start out with Bryce 5, then work their way up to harder programs but that is entirely up to you... and most of these are also pricey programs where as Bryce 5 is less than 200.00 if I remember right. But here is a list for your of proggies.
