Hey, Kenny! So how was the trip to Chicago?

Oh goodness! Sorry I haven't really been on. Spring Break is here, so I've been out quite often.
But Chicago was an incredible experience! I loved the bus ride (I was on the quieter bus and had an entire row to myself!), the food (Chicago-style pizza, buffets, etc.), and just everything!
We earned all gold ratings at both the Heritage Festival and at Orchestra Hall. The acoustics at Orchestra Hall were breathtaking; I was baffled by them even as I was singing. The sound was so live and everything blended incredibly!
I also got to walk around Chicago for a little bit, which was nice. I visited a cool little music shop and walked around Millennium Park (a park with a lot of outdoor modern art).
The hotel was beautiful. Who can complain about an Olympic-sized swimming pool, hot tub, and sauna?! Not to mention the room service was awesome and the beds were extremely comfortable. Oh, and we had a beautiful view of the Chicago skyline from our room.
Gah, it sure was a wonderful experience and I cannot wait for next year. We think we're going back to Carnegie Hall. New York City, here we come! :3

That's fine! I've just been curious about your endeavors in Chicago So you've been living like a rock star, you could say. Hehehe! Sounds like an AMAZING experience. And wow! Congratulations on the fantastic ratings! I'm sure you were a fantastic choir. Do you think you could post some photos if you've taken any on the trip/in Chicago (either here or on Facebook)? Would be so cool to see them! But you don't have to, if you don't want to :3

I've had a fantastic experience myself here in chilly Sweden (we're about to get some sunlight soon, I hope!)! Got to see Glasvegas (one of my favorite bands from Scottland) here in a record shop in Gothenburg. They played three (even though they had only agreed on playing two at the beginning) of their songs acoustically and after that it was time for them to sign their new (second) album EUPHORIC /// HEARTBREAK \\\. I don't know if you've heard about them before, but I think you should. Not sure if they're your type of music - but they're good nonetheless. And I got my album signed and I got to speak a little with each band member and shake their hands. Asked for a hug from James Allan (the lead singer) and got a hug and a kiss on my cheek (I'm such a girl, sometimes, I know xD). Me and my friends were at the front of the crowd and got a great view! Unfortunately I didn't think we were allowed to have professional digital cameras with us, so I only brought my iPhone with me (it turned out that you were allowed, cause there were several other people who had brought their camera with them). I got some good shots, but a few of them got blurry. The worst part, I think, was that I couldn't take any videos. But at least I got the experience Can't wait til' the summer is here, when I get to see them play again! I'll also be seeing Coldplay and Bright Eyes (and more artists!).

I've sent some pictures and a video of my experiences!

That is so awesome to hear! I've never heard of them, but I will be sure to check them out! I'll let you know what I think of them.
And your summer show will be a lot of fun as well, it seems! I don't go to many shows, but I usually have a pretty good time when I do.

chocosaur In reply to kenmath [2011-04-05 15:21:34 +0000 UTC]

Awesome! I'll take a look at them really soon!

Ah yes, please do that. :3 I'm interested in hearing what you think of them.
I'd recommend "Geraldine" (it's about the relation between a social worker and her client) and "Euphoria, Take My Hand".
The songs "Daddy's Gone" (about absent fathers), "It's My Own Cheating Heart That Makes Me Cry", "Flowers and Football Tops" (a song about a murder of a guy who 'supported' the wrong team - it happened in Glasgow) and "You" (beautiful lyrics) aren't bad either. I feel that their songs come through as very sincere. And you might need to take a look at the lyrics if you want to understand what they sing. Their Scottish accent is pretty thick. ;3

Yup! I'm really looking forward to it. I hope it doesn't rain, but it'll be a fantastic experience nonetheless. I don't go to that many shows either and this will be my first big music festival! Do you have any plans for the summer, by the way?

kenmath In reply to chocosaur [2011-04-11 01:01:27 +0000 UTC]

Sorry, still haven't gotten a chance to listen to those songs! I've been very busy, but things will slow down as today was the last day of break.
And that still sounds like a lot of fun! Nah, I don't usually do much during the summer as I have to work and whatnot. Lots of friend time, though!

chocosaur In reply to kenmath [2011-04-12 16:13:50 +0000 UTC]

I understand! Please listen to them whenever you've got the time
What kind of break are you on, by the way? I'll finally have my Easter break next week. Yay!

You've got work? Awesome! What do you get to do?
Yeah, I'm really looking forward to have some friend time too! It's been hard to get me and my friends gathered (as the group we are), especially since we've all moved to different schools and everyone has been equally busy (on different times and days...). xD

Aw, no, that's fine. I understand
What have you been up to?

I barbecued with my friends yesterday an got a blister. But the marshmallows were yummy. We also played this game called "Chubby Bunny" - which basically only contains one goal; having as many marshmallows as possible in your mouth, while being able to say "Chubby Bunny" fairly audible. xD

Ah, I understand you totally! Final exams, I assume...?

But hey, we'll be having summer break be for we know it
If I'm guessing correctly: I only have 10 school days left -dancedancedance-

chocosaur In reply to kenmath [2011-06-11 13:12:28 +0000 UTC]

Yeah Oh, that's nice. What are your plans for the summer?

I won a ticket to another music festival. It's called West Coast Riot, and it's mainly a punk/rock-festival. So I'll be seeing All Time Low and Sum 41 live next Friday, along with other bands from the UK, USA, Norway and Sweden. It'll be a blast!

And how was your birthday? (Happy belated birthday, Kenny!) :3

kenmath In reply to chocosaur [2011-07-02 14:13:11 +0000 UTC]

My plans for the summer include work and not a whole lot else, but I'm not upset with that. Work keeps me busy and paid, so there's no complaints.
And how were the bands? That sounds like a blast!
My birthday wasn't bad at all. Very quiet, but I like it that way. Thank you very much!

chocosaur In reply to kenmath [2011-07-02 14:56:55 +0000 UTC]

Nah, I wouldn't complain either. Hehe

Oh, I had so much fun! I went to Where The Action Is (my second and probably last one for this year) festival and I got to see Coldplay, Glasvegas, Bright Eyes, Paulo Nutini, Jenny and Johnny and Daniel Adams-Ray (a brilliant Swedish artist) perform live. They were all fantastic! Definitely money well spent. And I took loads of pictures (about 15% of them are in my Facebook album called "Where The Action Is 2011" - check them out -shameless advertising, hehe-).

Coldplay had a pretty magnificent show. They released uhm.. twenty-something big balloons filled with confetti. And I stood very close to the stage, so I touched a lot of balloons (LOL). But I had queue for that spot and guard it for like three hours (stood up pretty much the whole day). And there were about 25 000-30 000 people there! I drank like three slushies because it was so hot outside. Oh, and I also ate my first churros with chocolate sauce - so yummy.

Ah, I like quiet birthdays with the family and close friends too. Not that I don't like parties, but I've only had two or three birthday parties (only one of them was hosted by me - the other ones were hosted by me and my best friend), and I think it's very tiresome to prepare the parties - and I'd rather take it easy on my birthday. xD

Woah, big post! Well done if you read it all.

Eh, not really. Start a little project every so often to keep me occupied and up-to-date with programming standards, but school's got me a bit bogged down lately.
