So I was just on a friends photo album on Facebook, looking at pictures from Bass Control, thought I recognised that logo!

Yeah, old old days! I dusted off my login to come say hey, I think it goes right back to the Katoomba adventure?
But my friend's name is Ruby Ivers, heh. How long have you been doing events like that?
I did them for a bit through 2008/9 but didn't like the risk of taking my gear to them

I photograph events freelance on the side of still working. Been getting regular-ish work for about a year now, got to do some pretty cool things within this year.
I shot Bass Control for the inthemix website. As long as your allowed to be there with a camera its all good. Kids love getting their photos taken at those things.

Probably? The last event I shot for Powerhouse was Homegrown 2, I didn't know 95% of the people but it's always amusing to have people throw themselves in front of you yelling "TAKE MY PICTURE!"

Do you have a press pass or access pass to get your cameras into these venues?
I have recently been corresponding with RAVE / Time Out to get a freelance pass so I can do a little band photography myself but it seems the list of legalities is endless.
Anyway fantastic shots, I will have to watch you.

Yes I get photo passes for the gigs through a alternative website that focuses on the metal scene and fanks to mwa also a little bit on the industrial.
I dont know the specifics of obtaining them here but he never seems to have much trouble.. thats a pain! Certainly would take some of the fun out of it.
