Hey no prob My internet's been acting up at our apartment off and on. Glad to hear it Doing pretty well, learning a lot in just this past week and a half on art Finally experiencing charcoals, the h and b pencils, doing a bit of still life & abstract, and new techniques in my drawing class. And pretty much everything is new to me in 3D design XD Right now we're making cartesian cubes and spheres by cutting out and gluing together pieces of matte board and on Thursday we're going to do some kind of project involving soldering a lot of wire lol So yeah really new to me, plus my professor likes the out there designs, and I'm more simple, clean cut and refined in my thinking So it's hard right now, but I'm getting to that train of thought slowly

I'm not too abstract in thinking either. It seems to me that the abstract style was made for people who want their art to have meaning but don't have any talent. Just because it's different doesn't mean it's good. I have a drawing class this semester and it's three hours long twice a week. It's fun though. It focuses on just drawing, with pencil, conte crayon, compressed graphite, etc. The teacher is really cool though, so it shouldn't be too bad.

Same thoughts here. My drawing class has the same hours I'm liking mine so far too, it's mostly in class work, but there's a couple of ongoing out of class sketch book assignments and book readings, but nothing too bad And my teacher's really peppy and hyper lol

Same here. We have to draw two or three things a week in a sketchbook/diary kind of thing, and then we have to do big drawings in class. My teacher's name is Chiong-Yiao Chen. Sometimes she gets a little excited and I can't understand her, but she seems really cool. Our first assignment is to read the book and answer questions, which is lame, but oh well. So far, it's the only class I think I'll really like.

I really like mine too. Her name is Clare. She really is pretty nice. She's way different from my 3D instructor, Jon. If you could picture a long and lanky guy with kind of wavy messed up hair, always has on a regular T and jeans with some black sneaks and has a pair of safety glasses on his head all the time. He also carries a mug that has Monster in it, we think. And try to picture Brent's voice with this guy and that's Jon lol

That's pretty great. I wish I had a teacher like that. We just started drawing in my art class, and we are starting with geometric shapes... ugh. It's still more in-depth than freshman art in high school, though. I'm just looking forward to drawing people the most. The whole class will be on drawing, no painting or anything like that, which I really like.

That's what we're focusing on now I'm liking it pretty well too Charcoal is really messy lol So great news in my 3D design class He split us up into groups of 4. Each group went to another group's collection of spheres and cubes (12 cubes and 12 spheres in each group). Out of each group we picked out the cube and sphere we thought were the best and the cube and sphere we thought were the worst. One of my cubes got picked as the best out of our group And when he critiqued it, he didn't have anything bad to say about it Big confidence booster for me
