well, my sister actually made this account for me, then she forgot about telling me and then here I am, second day here on DA. I will be posting 1 piece of art though today, it will be the start to my adventure comic!

My sister's the *realistic artist* in my family, she's great with acrylics and a pencil, see my mother usued to paint and draw alot but now she does crafts and her mother and father both paint (my grandfather still paints today) and then my grandmother also does crafts still as well, then one day I came and I really didn't have to much realistic talent so I went into cartoons and comics, and here I am today! lol, my life story in a nutshell

XD I so can't do realistic. I'm like all manga-ish. And my skill with paint is sad. I have to be able to erase. XDDD
...my life story is this: I drew it, everyone looked at it, they told me it was good and then they kind of lost interest in my drawings. XDDD My family members aren't really artistic so they kind of take for granted what I do and when I spend a lot of effort they don't really understand how much it took to draw something.

can't say for security reasons (my parents are over protective) but I'm around your age.
my style is somewhat manga as well, I like the eyes personally and before I couldn't draw manga I read an article with this quote in it, and then it all made sence..
"The art of manga is just the way that a person sees the world" And then I thought that to an extent it really was somewhat realistic without all the shading and stuff.

I know, the eyes are my favorite part. When I was a kid I was all, "oooh, they're so shiny, this animation is so different!"
It is, alot. Most of the more rugged characters in manga actually are realistic. o_o;

yes, it's true. when I was little pokemon was a big thing, man I still can't believe I was brainwashed by that, but the eyes were what stood out to me, and it was great. Now looking at some of todays cartoons and animation, alot of the none anime has a manga style to it, even if they don't say it's anime.

I think a lot of the American cartoon creators are trying to imitate anime to gain a following. Can't they just accept that trying to be what they aren't is stupid? -looks over gallery of anime-inspired art and nihongo-otaku-ness- OHCRAPIJUSTDESCRIBEDMYSELF. rofl.

rofl, and thanks I've practiced alot. See, in my opinion, manga is better because you don't get the tv show and then the selling out of it, making merchandise and having high voices, the way that the manga didn't plan on being... I dunno, but I figure the manga to be better since it is the original!

Except for the manga adaptions of the anime, because those tend to be un-fun and not as detailed. -has the G Gundam DVD's + manga and the show is way better-
I like the merchandise, but I agree, they take things too far.

true true, I think plain and simple, manga is the original and the only graphic novel for me! The merchandise isn't bad though, it is quite entertaining at times!
