This is insane, mezzotints. Your insane. There is only one guy working professionally in mezzotints in my whole country. I want to do some this year but I dont know if I could be bothered. Do you rock your own plates or buy them?

I rocked them myself. I haven't made any artwork for over 2 years (!) as I don't get time now.
My brother does it professionally. Mezzotints that is.
Rocking the plate isn't that difficult it just takes quite a bit of time, but perhaps not as long as you might think. Give it a go.
Or maybe it's better to start with aquatint burnishing it from black like a mezzotint. Kind of gives you an idea of how it works before you go to more effort.

Yeah, I suppose I will definately try it some time, at least on a small plate. Did you know that the origin of the term "Off your rocker" came from children being employed to rock plates and going crazy due to the monotony of it? I thought that was pretty cool.

Wow!! Whassgoingon? It seems I've been chosen for an Unknown Artist thing that I don't understand but am really flattered. Didn't expect that to happen. It's gone a bit bonkers here with people picking my stuff as favourites and adding me to friends lists and what not. So thanks all round and I'll write more when I get time. Thanks again.
