You don't have to cringe at bad anatomy. Consider the classic impressionist painters. Did anatomy count for them? "Why do you have the subject's eye there? Isn't that her armpit? Oh, it's her face? Dang." Seriously, there's more to art than just anatomy. If all it were was anatomy then we might as well just take photographs.

Sure, if I were purposely making anatomy choices that don't match reality, that's an artistic choice, and we all do that with proportion and face shape etc. It's all the other mistakes I make I cringe at seeing! The ones where I thought I was doing it correctly, but was not. Recognizing mistakes and re-evaluating your own work makes you better the next drawing. Ignoring it and chalking it up to "It's my style" is a disservice to yourself.
