That was a complement lol "Thank you" or, "Why are you still talking to me" would have been more appropriate responses lol

You mentioned you want to learn to paint, the best way is to get some cheap acrylics and doodle. You can still sketch with paint, or with pencil before filling it in, and there's no mystery to the technique because everyone develops their own and often does so for a style that bears little or no resemblance to their previous work (As can be seen with my paintings folder). If you want to get into oils and the old strange techniques that require more information than messing around with a canvas can get you, I can point you in the right directions online and the place you buy brushes and a canvas will most likely have some suggestions, you won't need to be an apprentice for 5 years (Again I must refer you to my paintings folder, if you don't like mine then you won't want to follow my advice on painting and go more formal). But the most important thing regardless is to get some supplies or borrow some and try it.

Thank you for your advice, I would very much like to buy some paint, but unfortunately I'm broke, but it's very hard to find a job around here, especially these days. I looked through your paintings, and generally they are all very good. Thank you for the offer but i think I'll stick with the basics for now. And I'm sure drugs help lol just kidding.Oh and I like Nightwish too.

It sucks more then Paris Hilton. and it severely limits my ability to find anything useful Calgary? Lucky I have it because I... can't figure out how to make it work... I kinda blow with computers, it says that any image I try to use is to big.

yea, I had that problem too, and still don't know how to fix it...

I kindof wish I lived in a small town because it's more in the countryside..and that way you can take prettier pictures To get to the prairies for me it takes around 30/40mins to get to the mountains it's about 1hour and 30 mins...

But I guess downtown's interesting, just not in the winter! Which accounts for about 3/4 of the year *cries*

OH and concerning your drawings, right now I'm taking my second drawing course in college and I could like...give you some assignments and deadlines to follow, it'll help you become a more versatile artist!

Well be thankful, it takes me 30\40 minutes to get to Random Fields, and 1 hour and 30min to get to More Random Fields! And I hate sound like I complain about everything (I'm quite the opposite usually) but at least you HAVE a downtown Don't cry! Oh and kudos for drawing an epic penis, but just leaving it around with no real purpose is a little creepy, your mom's the one who needs to see it! lol True, I don't need to be, but the 16 thing still ruins it. So people just randomly volunteer to pose naked in class? I'm not sure if thats really cool or really odd... hmm. And sure! I would love some assignments, I am not a versatile artist at all!

Pleasure to meet ya Cole! I'm pretty sure DeviantArt welcomes you & your talents with open arms as well. ^^
Enjoy your time here- And don't stop drawing- you apparently have a talent of sorts.

Also, the best way to start painting- is to grab some paint & put it on the canvas
but seriously, depending on the paint, don't worry about details at first- start off with blobs of color in the shape of whatever your drawing. then just add layer over layer, slowly working towards the minute details.
You might want to do still-life's first as well

Well thank you Jonathan, thank you for your input and I'm quite the community around here recognizes your talents as well. yes I shall try and upload some newer things very soon. That sounds like good advice but I can't really afford many if any canvases I'm only 16 and don't have a job lol

yeah, i know what that's like.
17 and also need a job, but that's soon to change.
What I've done for some quick cash in the past is take up some requests from friends and random people to draw them tattoos for a few bucks depending on the sizes. Example: the joker picture in my gallery is found on my friends shoulder. He paid me $10 to draw it- if you know how to (i don't & refuse to practice on a friend) actually tattoo them. it'd make business quicker, but can lead to hasty results- i just tell them to get it professionally done.

That's a really good idea in theory but the only problem is that I have a friend that everyone knows who is already the best artist in town (it's a small town) and she already designs pretty much anyone who asks tatoos for free.

yeah- that happens too i guess
but there's always oppurtunities out there to work, as an artist, a check-out clerk, working the corner, something-somthing.... just need to get out there and do something. Maybe Collab with said girl? not for money- but for artistic & friendly-ship purposes
