Hey! Thanks for messaging me; it was a really nice surprise. The only question I really have is if I'm supposed to give credit if I use someone else's brush on a DeviantArt submission. I did it just in case, but it would be nice to know for the future.

Hmmm, well that is somewhat of a grey area to be honest since people tend to forget where they got stuff from all the time. Check the artist comments and see if they left any conditions. If s/he did, then it's for the best if you left credit. If not, it is still for the best if you left credit anyway but if it is just a dab or two, or if you use it for every submission ever it isn't truly necessary. However leaving credit allows others to find it if they liked it and thus allows more traffic to the creator, which is kind of a form of thank-you. But it harsh truth, people forget to do this all the time.

Basically: You don't have to unless they say you do, but it's a really good thing to do anyway. Hopefully I answered it well enough haha.
