Description
This is not really a tutorial, more a "How I work" thing with some tip below. Doing a whole tutorial would require making drawings just for the occasion, with a lot of details and explanations, while here the basic stuff is kinda skipped. (maybe in the future I'll work on something like that, we'll see.)I still hope you will find it interesting or useful anyways ^^ For now I can post only the sketching part, since the drawing is still uncompleted, so inking and coloring will be posted who-knows-when, as soon as I have some free time and hoping I won't screw something.

Here's something for the muscles and references.
And at last I would highly recommend this is site here, it's for artistic nude drawing and some poses are awesome references, I used them even in the drawing above. (It's obviously full of pictures of nude people, you've been warned) www.artmodeltips.com/poses/

I like it that the feet are looking like they could actually support the characters weight

That is one of the things I aim for, glad you noticed. Digitigrade feet theoretically should work, the only problem is they are usually too small.

yeah, so often i see that people just change the posture and maybe add a little more muscles to the legs, but there is a reason why our human feet have evolved the way they did, so would Digitgrade feet It's just more practical if you have a more stable base

Thanks for the tips, man! I've always skipped the middle step and when straight from the basic geometry to the final drawing. Must be why my clothes always bothered me. Will be trying your way from now on!

Glad you found it useful, I'm sorry I couldn't make a step by step of the rest of the work, though.
I used to do that too and yeah, it sometimes leads to awkward anatomy and weird clothing effects... ^^

Oh wow this is really cool! I always find it interesting how different everyone's first step (skeleton step) looks. Mine looks like a stick figure XD Perhaps I'll try your boxy method sometime (And I'm glad I'm not the only one that draws the body then the clothes XD I thought I might be crazy hehe)
(And I did find it useful I love to look into other artist's methods, helps keep me from getting stuck in bad work habits
) Thanks for posting this!
Also I really love this drawing so far! Hope you are able to finish it someday ^^ Good luck on it!

Sorry for the awfully late reply! D:
Many people say to use the stick figures for the general shape, but I found them useful only on really complex poses, otherwise I go on only with "circles and tubes" ^^ Hah! Good to know, not many take the time to draw the body if it will be covered by the clothing! (If the characters wear only a loincloth it's hard to avoid though hahaha) XD
Thank you! I already finished it and it turned out quite well! I'll try to find a scanner around, I wouldn't want to wait until the end of december to post it...

Thank you for this excellent reference of your method for drawing a anthropomorphic body.
I'll use this for my drawings in the future.

Well, I use other kind of base for the body, but is useful to know how to draw the paws.

Hello:
Thank you for making this! , I have indeed that problem of awkward anatomy by trying to put clothes directly into the skeleton of the sketch .
I'll try and use your ideas for any future pics I can try .

Hello:
Lol, I know what you mean, I guess I will still have to work on that (specially whenever I start drawing adult characters ).
I guess you were busy.

Woah, I'm glad you liked it mate! I would have wanted to make a serious tutorial where I could explain every single step, but I didn't have the time unfortunately.
Thank you for the offer, however for now I have no plans about that ^^

I really like seeing how you begin drawing your characters. That's something I struggle with frequently. (Cursed anatomy! )
I'm very curious to see the coloring stage of your drawing. I'm just starting to learn watercolor so I would love to see your step-by-step process. ^_^

Thank you! Indeed, anatomy is a pain.
Alas, I don't know if it's even worth posting the rest since I can't really show how I color, it would just be like "good! Now ink and then color!" which is pretty useless. If you'll ever need some advice I'll be here though!
