Description
Further practice with soft lamps and softer shadows. Learning a lot about rendering with console commands now that I'm actually following some guides.Made in GMod.
Also this image is huge (7680x4320!), so viewing in FULL-fullscreen isn't entirely necessary.

How did you get such a big resolution like that without making the picture end up being like, blurry or something ?!

I made this using Soft Lamps, which comes with a command called "poster_soft" which basically renders the picture almost pixel-by-pixel for each lamp. So, in essence, it made multiple renders of different segments of the whole image, then used those segments and sew them together for the full image (AKA it zoomed in and took a bunch of screenshots, then put them together like a puzzle).
Using that command, you can upscale the resolution by multiples of your native screen resolution. For example, for me, "poster_soft 1" will render at 1920x1080 (my normal screenshots). "poster_soft 2" will render at 3840x2160, etc. I did "poster_soft 4" which rendered at 7680x4320. The command also output the image as a .PNG instead of a .JPG. This is much better because PNGs don't compress as much.
Vanilla GMod has this ability by default, just use the "poster #" command. Same rules apply with resolution: "poster 1" is your screen resolution, "poster 2" is your screen x2, etc. Going too high with this command will likely crash your game, "poster_soft" seems capable of outputting larger images. For me, at least.
The only downside I've found to this is the obviously much bigger file sizes at larger resolutions, and you can't seem to use the in-game Depth of Field or Super Depth of Field tools when using the "poster" or "poster_soft" commands. If you have them enabled, it will just disable and take the screenshot without the effect. I'm currently looking around to see if it is possible to get SDOF in a "poster" render.
