Personality:
Previously: Rex liked very often to be alone, especially during the night. He is very loyal and protective, but can sometimes come off as bold. He was a very conflicted dog. He didn't know whether or not he wanted to be a part of a pack. He struggled to befriend anyone, simply because he did his best not to get too close. He kept his distance from others, be physically or emotionally. Not having anywhere to belong was nothing new to Rex when he joined Dunkle, but he slowly began edging closer to the pack life and regaining the trust he had once so lacked.

Currently: An extremely loyal mate, father, and friend, Rex would give his life for those he calls his family. Though still a reserved dog, he is clearly a compassionate being with fiercely protective tendencies. Clever and collected, Rex's growth in the pack and inwardly over the years has given him a stable head on his shoulders and a logical mind. Where he feared himself once, he has now grown confident and well tempered as a result of the love of his packmates. He enjoys company, long walks, and peaceful evenings where he once may have opted for seclusion. Rex is an honest dog who is happy to tell truths, even when they are hard ones. His years mending have been spent in self-reflection and given him wisdom, courage, and a strong sense of right and wrong, which now guide him in his everyday life.

Pre-group history: Rex was born onto the streets. His father abandoned the pups and mother, leaving his mother heartbroken. For a few weeks, he and his littermates lived with their mother until they were old enough to be able to eat solid food. However, when Rex's mother when out to find something for her pups to eat, she was hit and killed by a car. The pups were hungry and cold without her, and soon they began to slip away. The stronger few went off on their own, confused and frightened. They survived only on scraps humans fed them and drainpipe water. One day, Rex was offered food from two men, then caught and taken in the back of a truck. For two and a half years, he was beaten and thrown into pits with other dogs. They were fights to the death, and Rex won them all, even if brutally injured by the opponent. Every night it haunted him. The fights were frightening, but it was either fight or die. He was forced to kill, night after night after night. Until the last night. The cage he was in was left unlocked, and Rex managed to escape the terrible place. Haunted and alone, he wandered the streets, making his way north and away from those awful fights. For nearly a year, he remained aloof, hunting on a "Dagsworth" pack territory and keeping himself alive and away from others. Eventually, he became curious of the farther north area of the city and stumbled upon the Dunkle Schicsal Packen.

Group History:
  Despite his endeavors to become a part of the pack, Rex has kept to himself much of the time. Plagued by nightmares, he shut himself in his room every night. He helped out here and there, but the only one he was every truly close to was Madison, a light red Husky that showed him around on his first day. After an attempt to run off, it was she who brought him home again. Feeling lonely that night, Rex asked to stay with the kind female, and she allowed him. During a regular nightmare about the fights, Maddie tried to wake her friend. In confused fear and out of instinct, he attacked her, only to realize what it was he had done. Horrified at what he'd done, Rex bolted for the city in a blizzard. He insulted her when she came looking for him, wanting only solitude. The old Beta of Dagsworth found him, then, and sick as he'd become in that weather, he lost a fight against three Dagsworth dogs. They kept him in a damp cellar, only worsening his sickness. There, he was cared for by the Dagsworth healer, Ash, and thought he'd made a friend. But he missed Madison and the pack with all of his heart and wanted nothing more than to see them again. He was taken from the cellar and guarded within the Dagsworth hideout. It was then that Madison arrived with Nikuya, a beastly dog, in an attempt to set her friend free again. After Nikuya's offensive behavior towards Madison, Rex snapped again, attacking the horrible dog and losing yet again, being weak and out of practice. Ash fixed up the bad wound in his neck, and he was allowed to see the dog he loved and missed so dearly. The old Alpha offered his freedom in return for a favor, and Rex and Maddie were allowed to leave. They spent a few weeks to themselves before Rex gained the confidence to return to the Dunkle Schicksal PAck.
Soon after their return and Rex's release from the cages, Rex was informed of his mate's pregnancy. In the battle against the Vryheid Van Siel, Rex fought Koa after his attempt to murder Madison. He received a large scar on his left shoulder during the encounter. He went for help after the attack and met with an old friend, Ash, who he brought to Dunkle to aid the wounded. He remained with his mate as she healed, waiting for their pups to arrive.
After the happy birth of their puppies (Damien, Estelle, Allison, and Santiago), they enjoyed a few months of peace, the Vryheid scum back underground. The attack left the Dunkle to rebuild, and they did. Rex became a loving, very happy father who provided for his family, played his role in the pack, and looked after his pups, all while remaining a devoted mate to his one and only. After six months of happiness, it was heard that there had been an attack on Dagsworth, and less than two days later, the Dagsworth showed up on their doorstep, broken and haunted by the loss of their Beta, a close friend of Rex's, Ash. Sick with hate and sorrow, Rex withdrew from the invasive pack and kept to his own friends and family.
