Description Not too long ago, City of..., got its latest free expansion. This expansion heavily features the alien invaders, the Rikti...where in the expansion randomly attack various hero and villain zones.

When the invasion happens, the sky turns this dark greenish color, and at a distance you can see all the Rikti teleporting in with these green beams of light that go towards the sky.

I thought it was time to do more art of my main character, Razorstrike....and so I did a pic of him taking the fight back to the Rikti invasion ships.

Absolutly a beautiful piece; the pose, the lighting, and teh backgroud makes it a masterful piece. Bravo! Keep up with the good work.

Oh wow, these are just awesome!! Gosh, I love seeing your CoH art... Beamer's right, it does look like a screenshot! (And the Ritki expansion has been awesomely fun!)

(Hey, and now that I have an actual graphics card in my computer, I'm like, oh, it really does look a lot different!!! *grin*)

Thanks!

Heh, I remember when I got a real graphics card in my computer and I could turn up the setting and things like that...I was like 'Woah! The game looks cool now!'.

Now we just need to get Will into the game...

*laughs* Yeah, I was like... oh, whoa, there are Textures!! Wait, when did I get that costume part...?

Yes, we DO need to get Will into the game. Yessss... Will, come join us! We have candy and superheroes!

Well, he's got superheroes anyway. Mine are more like Underdogs.

When I first started playing I was using the integrated graphics that came with my computer. So, things were very basic looking for me, and I couldn't really tell the different between Tights and Tights Sleek...so at one point I was running around with the sleek top and the regular tight bottoms - people must have thought I was drunk or something when I made the costume.

Beautiful piece, Mr. Burns. As Will said, it looks like professional promo art.

Razorstrike makes me so nostalgic for the Iacon gallery over at Allspark. Ah, the good ol' days.

Of course, in this image, he also makes me nostalgic for Amalgam Comics, as I can see design elements echoing both Batman and Wolverine (combined into Dark Claw).

Oh the good ol' days...

Your comment about Dark Claw reminds me of the time a former SGmate said that Razor was Batman because "he has the spikes on his gloves". I was like 'WTF?'

It's the power of visual association. Batman was the first time (and for many of us, the only time) that particular design choice was used. So, we see it in Razorstrike, and *boom*, we think Batman. Same holds true for the three blades issuing from the back of his hand - it's hard to escape comparisons to Wolverine.

Oh, I know. The comparisons don't really bother me, it's almost to be expected to some degree. I mean when you think of claws, you're going to think of Wolverine. The spikes on the gloves though, while I do understand and get the parallels to Batman...it's never really jumped out at me. But I do get them.

Nice! I quite like how, in this series of pics you've posted you're using your colours--it has a real sense of power and drama against it, as well as a real sense of scope, especially with all the silhouetted figures in the background. Excellent work! Very well done!

Originally I wanted to put a ship or two in there, but I figured that if I put a bunch of heroes instead it might sort of work out better in the long run.

Thanks though!

I think it does, really--the silhouettes give it a real sense of rising action that draws your eye along with your main character, and I think that works better than putting in the ships.

You're welcome!

that is gorgeous, eric. the first couple of times i looked at it, i thought it might have been a screenshot from the game. like it was some sort of cinematic scene. i'm sure you don't get those in-game, but you know what i mean

Actually, we do get cut scenes/movies throughout the game...though they are sorta random. Most of them occur in what are called Task Forces, which are a series of missions you are locked in to doing with a team.
