Yup I loved that episode anyone who didn't deserves to get a first class rocket trip to the sun ,but one problem Β the first shows us canterlot Β mobilized hundreds or potentially thousands of royal guards yet ,despite Β their sole purpose to protect the city we never see them when the invasion starts ,excepts for a small shot of two guard easily captured and restrained for two seconds.I guess it was still a kid show ,they Β couldn't show real violence ( thought the mane six battle was epic) which is probably why celestia/chrysalis fight took like ten seconds with nothing more than a standard beam fight . However I guess this is actually better as it Β allows the viewer to fill in the gaps with their imagination leading to fics or images like this one Β ,which is one of mops greatest strengthsΒ

Now that is something what I would like to see in the show.
Because come on, mane 6 vs hundred of changelings was cool, but 15 second defeat of Celestia and disappearance of all guards was not.

Maybe the royal guard had been infiltrated and were all changelings before the actual invasion. They were probably draining Celestia for months.

Something like this would not go unnoticed, also, Changelings would not be able to drain Celestia without alerting her in any way, after all it is not like case with Chrysalis and Shining Armpr, it is far different.
