Description I looking for a cd in the cupboard today and this guy came out, thought it was a daddy long legs at first but it isn't and i have no idea what it is. Anyone? So i took a photo before shoeing him off outside. Ill just call him SquidHead or ConeHead Spider

EDIT: thanks to *pitbulllady, It's a spitting spider (Scytodes sp) which spits out this stream of sticky goo, which traps their prey, they hunt other spiders.

i'd definatly say this is a female, since most female spiders' abdomens are larger in comparison to there cephalathorax (head). also i have never seen a brown one, only clear. i have a cute as a button clear one living in my bathroom.

That's a Spitting Spider, Scytodes sp. These guys specialize in hunting other spiders. They actually spit out this stream of sticky goo, which traps their prey, and they reel it in and eat it, sorta like the way a chameleon uses its tongue! They are related to Cellar Spiders(what Australians call "Daddy Long-Legs, which also specialize in killing other spiders, though they use a web to trap them)and are harmless to people or pets. That humped carapace contains glands to produce their venomous glue.
