The F-121 "Manta" is the Sentinels' primary air superiority and defense aircraft. like most sentinel machines, Despite it's rather clunky appearance, this machine is incredibly fast and agile, and is able to match other, more sleek, aircraft like the F-16. There are even stories of Manta pilots downing F-22 raptors (though there is debate as to weather or not that is due to the machine or the ferocity of the pilots). The Manta's two turbojets were really designed for larger aircraft giving the manta the extra weight capacity to boast ten hard points for missiles, bombs, fuel, etc... and two 27mm cannons on either side of the fuselage just above the air intakes. The last thing of note about the Manta is the distinctive plating on the front of the aircraft. the material is significantly harder than the materials used in the rest of the aircraft and the internal skeleton of the wing is denser toward the front. the theory is that is was meant as added protection but, the reality is that it was meant to allow desperate pilots to use their own aircraft as a weapon. should the aircraft run out of ammo or it's weapons otherwise disabled the pilot could use the aircraft as a battering ram and plow through the other aircraft and still be able to stay airborne. making the manta a dreaded sight for any pilot.

Now for some artistic points. the aircraft itself and the immediate area around it is colored pencil but the rest of the background is pastels, i wanted to find a better way of doing backgrounds easier and decided to try this, what do you guys think?
