Description
Well, had an interesting day or so, I have been building a new computer now for quite a few months (buying what I could here and there). Well the computer was pretty much complete, just a few more items to go when all of the sudden yesterday my old computer, which had been holding on by a wing and a prayer, decided to melt down for the final time yesterdaySoooo... I had to make do with my not quite yet completed 'Super Computer' Darth
I managed to save MOST of my work, because over the past few weeks I have been methodically backing up my work to one of my secondary drives. Well - the Sten Machine gun, in being so new and still a WIP did NOT suffer such a fate
Well anyway, I now have Windows 7 64-bit *drools on keys* and I LOVE IT! OMG! This computer is so fast right now that I get wind burn just from sitting at the keyboard!

Well there are a few requirements in order to use the 64 bit architecture, but the benefits are great Check these out:

i run windows 7 ultimate 64 and i could see a huge difference to the old windows XP 64 pro
now i can fire up and sit down not fire up, go to the loo, make a coffee and then sit down
as well as most programs work better especially 3d

Amen to that, this software boots up FAST! Of course building it myself and loading it myself I don't have all of the peripheral software JUNK that manufacturers put on bought computers

very true i will never ever again buy a ready made one. only lasted about 18 months until i was fed up with it. they use cheap junk and you can't find drivers when you change the OS etc.
so my newest was built from scratch and i'm very happy with it. has only what it needs. mind you because it was rather urgent i bought everything in one go. for the next upgrade i will buy what i can afford slowly
needed a new laptop for when i visit my mum as the one that's there is about 7 years old and i can't do sod all with it. even playing games is a pain in the butt the one i had here was way too heavy. loved it though was a really good machine. never had problems.
so the new i bought was an Acer again and a bargain. but i spent 1 hour to uninstall all the crap that's on it extra
lovely machine though. quiet and cool. you could have a snooze on the keyboard

Amen to that lol - yeah commercially bought computers have way too much junk loaded onto them in order for that computer company to "seem attractive" and "offer more" when in all actuality the computers from different manufacturers are basically the same with slight hardware differences between them.

'Tis better than a sparkly vampire lol. Yeah did a few benchmark renders so far in 3D and this thing is blowing them away - no effort.
