This little guy came by the house with a few of his
mates, and saw me in the garden just enjoying
the sunshine, and he turned away from the pack
and came right up to me and would not leave my side.
He was obsessed with me and stayed with me for about
an hour, his mates all left and he would not be parted
from me...
It is said many times that wild animals and birds do
not fall in love, but I am sure they do...and such a
sweet tender love it is...Humans with nature and
nature with Humans...So Sublime...

He is a Sandhill Crane...We do not have them here in the north,
but they are very abundant in Florida and the South...
They are actually very pretty in real life...The photos do not do justice
to their magnificant red heads...

Apparently North of here occasionally
Where there are no roads to get to them
they fly over to nest in this conservation area
Oh how I wish I could photograph them, it would be so awesome!

we do have natural habitats for migrating birds, mostly egrets and blue cranes...
If I want to visit a certified conservation area, I have to drive about 4 hours to get there..
I went once and it was wonderful, but the weather and time of year varies so much I usually
just go to my lakes around my cabin...
Yes, you would love photographing them....they are all beautiful...

and lakes around are the best, one just has
to have the time to be patient and wait
eventually wildlife comes by
I just go looking for them with my kayak
Every summer the ducks and birds probably say
