Colress keeps tinkering with the object in his hands.

* he comes back with a piece of the fossil * " got it! "

"Thank you." Colress said, taking the fossil piece from Sam's hands. "Now to combine the sample of ancient DNA with the modern modifier..." He took a nearby vial of purple liquid and poured it into a container in which he placed the fossil piece.

* he walked up behind colress and watches along with him *

The fossil piece absorbed the liquid and turned the same purple as a Genesect's armor. Colress grinned. "It worked." he said.

" wait it worked? That's good to hear. "

"Yes. With this we should be able to- Gyaah!" Colress began as he moved to pick up the purple fossil piece, yelping in pain when the fossil decided to fuse to his hand.

" what the?! Colress? You okay?! " * I look and try to remove the fossil piece *

The fossil piece doesn't come off and is absorbed into Colress's hand. His skin begins to turn purple and harden into a metal plating.

" sir?! What's happening?! " * I back up, banging into the table *

"I-I don't know...!" Colress managed to get out as he writhed in pain from the metal spreading across his body. When his body was completely covered in the armor, it started shifting into the form of a Genesect as his insides converted to those of said Pokemon.

* I quickly check on him in a panic *

Colress lets out a warped scream as his body finishes transforming into a Genesect. He curls up into a ball on the floor, shaking.

" sir! Hey. I'm here! Do you need anything? Can you still speak? "

Colress just laid there, curled into a ball and shaking. After a while, he finally started to stretch out and tried to stand. He toppled back over onto the floor and growled.

* he caught him before he hit the ground * " it's okay sir. I got you. "

Colress looked up at Sam and nodded, quickly looking away again. He struggled to get his balance, but he finally managed to stand. He inspected his new body with curiosity, carefully studying everything he could see.

" sir? Can you speak? " * he examined him as well as he saw tattered clothes on him *

Colress attempted to speak and only succeeded in producing a few sounds akin to the chitters of modern bug pokemon.

" oh... I wish I could understand you. Have you tried telepathy? I heard Genesect can do that. "

Colress shook his head. He focused on trying to reach out with his mind. He felt it brush against Sam's, but he lost focus. He made a sound of frustration.

* he groaned as it brushed his mind, holding his head * " that felt weird. Sir. Should we continue our work? "

Colress made a questioning sound, as if to say "How?"

" well I guess we can study you? Or continue with what we were doing before while you learn your new body. "

Colress flinched at the suggestion of studying him. He didn't want to end up as another lab specimen.

" oh! Sorry! " * he quickly bowed as a apology *

Colress nodded in acceptance ad looked around, trying to adjust to his new, shorter stature. He needed to figure out a way to turn back, if there even was one.

* I examine you " hand " and checks where the fossil piece was attached * " I wonder why it did that. "

* he sighs and backs up and walks out to get the rest of the fossil *

Colress tried to follow, but fell over again. He clambered back to his feet and managed to walk, albeit unsteadily, after Sam.

* I start coming back with the rest of the fossil and see you * " sir. What are you doing? We should head back before anyone sees you. "

Colress chittered unhappily and reluctantly retreated back to the lab he had transformed in.

" I'm sorry... but I would rather not see you become a test subject sir. "

Colress nodded and drifted into deep thought. He couldn't stay here forever, especially not while he was like this. But, he needed this place to hopefully find a way to undo the transformation.

" we'll stay for a bit longer but if you want you can stay at my place. "

Colress nodded to show that he was thankful for the offer. He noticed his clothes lying on the floor a little ways away. He collected them and tried to signal to Sam that he wanted them brought with them so no one would get suspicious.

" oh? what is it? " * he looks to his clothes and nods * " of course. i'll bring it with me sir. "

Colress hands the clothes over to Sam and looks around the lab for anything he might need. If I could only take the entire fossil and the rest of the fluid I made back with me, I might be able to turn myself back. Colress thought.

* he starts to put your clothes into his bag * " I wish I could understand you. "

Colress nodded and headed over to the fossil and tried to retrieve it, but he couldn't reach it.

* he gives it to colress and sighs * " we need to change you back sir. "

Colress nodded vigorously and looked around for another vial of the fluid he had been working on. He spotted one on a high shelf and chittered in frustration. He walked over to the shelf and pointed at the vial, hoping Sam would get the message.

" yes sir. " * he sighs and climbs up to get it, grabbing the vial and handing it to him *

Colress looked at Sam. He very obviously did not have the correct appendages to grab the vial.

" right. Sorry. " * he takes it and tries to copy what colress did before *

Colress frantically shakes his head and attempts to stop Sam. If Sam transformed, then he would have no one to help him turn back.
