Description
body div#devskin0 hr { }
hangs
no more rope that binds us
no more obligation or duty
no more (bottomless) void where love once was
no more tears shed in the dark
no more anguish that cries {alone}
no more pain that claws and scrapes
there is only freedom
only life and death
only wings that beat with independence
only air that carries
to no more pain that claws and scrapes
that chokes and tightens its hold
to no more absence against a wall
that familiarizes only
to no more skin that cares for nothing
stripped back with lies, ignorance, deception
for there is only freedom
only truth and realization
only things as they truly are
only freedom, as i step forward...

Truly, wonderful piece. I admire your choice of words. They all symbolise some part of desire to let go from this painful world that continues to infinitely torture us to the day we rot in our graves. I can understand that tiredness; that need to let go from all responsibility... and just die. Needn't feel any more. Needn't care anymore. That is what is expressed here. To just... succumb to gravity.
Again, I love it.

Thank you very much! Some would say that is the definition of freedom.

It technically is freedom. For us and not for them.

There is that. Depends on how you approach it, as is often the case with life.

Wow! This piece is just...beautiful. Despite the somber tone, the words seem to fit rather perfectly in tune with each other and I can deeply appreciate that. My next comments on this literature is feedback that is based on my interpretation of your poetry and I recognize that it will possibly fall along some lines that you did not intend for it, emotionally. However, the most beautiful part of art is that we can all perceive and interpret things so differently and effect people with our creations in different ways.
One of my favorite features within this particular poem is the shifting/added words with parentheses, brackets, etc., which shows a bit of chaos, suffocating emotion, and scatterbrained thoughts caused by those emotions. It also demonstrates that internal struggle to find just the right words to express one's feelings accurately to the rest of the world.
I absolutely adore the title, which shows that soft drifting of acceptance with the ellipses and makes the tone of the poem clear without even having to read it. The image also prepares you for the poem's purpose, it is well chosen. Overall, every small piece of this poem is placed together rather perfectly to make a wonderful puzzle and I don't think it could have been better implemented. My favorite lines in this poem are:
"to no more skin that cares for nothing
stripped back with lies, ignorance, deception"
These two lines alone really accentuate how tired and done this person is with the world, demonstrating how worn down they have become and how they view the life around them. It shows how dark things have fallen in their perception and also indicates a strong desire to let go, not only of that physical shell that seems to be holding them back, but also of the inner heart that has accepted death and wishes to give up and move on to a different way of existing or not existing.
It's wonderfully written, truly heart-wrenching, and definitely profound. It says so much more with very few words and that demonstrates a true talent. Thank you so very much for sharing this poem with us; I look forward to reading more of your work.

I also use literature, especially poetry, as a therapeutic tool and it is indeed helpful, especially in tough times.
As for the piece itself, eloquently said. I like the way you discuss the subject. You don't criticize it, instead you translate it or try to understand it.

Yes, I agree! Sometimes, we just need to put our thoughts and feelings into words, to see that they can be transitioned from inside to outside, to free ourselves from any trappings and more!
For me, literature is very much a translation of abstract concepts such as emotions.

Very powerful. But the first picture had me thinking of a pool diving because of the bare feet and tile. Most of the reason I make art is the therapeutic value. Nice work.

I can understand where you're coming from with that! The wonders of China, I guess. Their balconies are like pools, based on the tiles and such. Easier to clean than wood, I suppose.
My photography is artistic, I guess, but my literature is definitely for therapy and therapeutic reasons.
