Original Mewtwo is masculine, while Movie 16's Mewtwo is much more feminine.

I'm hoping that the two Mewtwo actually meet in a future movie or special, because while I was disappointed at first about the new one not being the original, I kind of like the idea of that.

Actually, this is supposed to be the Mewtwo we all know and love. Catch is, the entire backstory's been rewritten for the character. Short story:
☼ Ash never met Mewtwo, so this would be their first meeting.
☼ Mewtwo accidentally destroyed the lab it was created in rather than doing it out of pure rage and confusion
☼ This Mewtwo is supposed to be closer to the manga version rather than the movie one
This is all after they show audiences the First Movie and then Mewtwo Returns. The very first trailer was a lie, in leading viewers to believe that Ash recognized Mewtwo.
