I'm not dead!
Haven't posted anything in a while, I've been in a mix between working on this, watching FMA, playing video games, and other such social interactions with peoples. I'll try do more art from now on, probably less paintings but more drawings.
SO! About this! Another thing from my comic. I'm not posting my human characters because I don't quite like how they look yet. Anyways, this one doesn't have a name yet, so I've been calling her sloth. I really like how the eye and nose turned out here

My initial thought of this piece is that it is extremely detailed, and clearly the artist put plenty of time and effort into it. You can piratically see every individual hair on the body, right down to the wire-thin whiskers. A unique contrast is made between the sharp, edged features, such as the nose, ears, and horns; and the smooth, angular qualities of this creation, like the neck, the necklace and pendant, and the grin of the creature.
Upon mentioning the sharper qualities, the eyes are definitely worth paying attention to. The pupil style being a slit down the middle, implies a predatory nature, but the color of the eye itself takes away from that, almost assuring a sense of security. The grin adds to that feeling, as well. The facial structure reminds me, personally, of that of a greyhound. With the long nose especially making me come to that thought.
The colors in the background make it seem like the viewer is in somewhat of a threatening environment, with the dark red and blackness closing in. But the creature, with the pendant giving off a gentle, contrasting glow, seems like it would want to protect the viewer from said environment. As previously mentioned, she seems like a predator, but her body language suggests a helpful demeanor.

This is my first critique, so I'm not sure am I doing this right
Personally I like this drawing and all the details. The idea of the drawing is simple, but the drawing itself is very detailed and meticulously done. The colours are in balance and they are smooth. The lightning is also very good, the pendant hanging from the character's neck is beautiful and the shining becomes one with the character's own colouring. Even if the pendant (if I can call it pendant) is blue it fits with the backround and other colurs of the drawing. The atmosphere of the drawing is peaceful and warm.

but seriously, this is amaaaazing! I really love how you did the fur, and actually the everything. I wish I could paint like you Aussiebear, cause you're fucking amazing!! :3
