I guess it all started when asked what Sparkz should wear for Halloween and i guess i saw the parallel then and she produced this awesomeness...So i had to at least try, even though i HATE drawing the hyenas because they never come out right when i do it, but i just kinda had fun with this one and i kinda like how Shenzi came out.

i never had the opportunity to have a hairstyle. XD
(it actually wasn't an option where i grew up and by the time i DID have that option... 
besides, i found it a huge advantage in my time as an MMA fighter. in sparring or whatever (especially Jiujitsu) they can't pull YOUR hair, but you can pull THEIR hair. XDDD
Stone Cold, eh? XDDD he's just too funny to be scary. still dig his antics, though. i only remember him really being legitimately intimidating for like... maybe one year. XD but yeah. point well taken. XD

Of course, I only gave him black "hair" to fit in with his patchwork fur patterns, while Shenzi probably has a head of hair to distinguish her as the leader of the trio...or that she's female, take your pick.

i figured Shenzi's hair was them simply putting some of Whoopi into the character design because of her braids

That's right, I'd forgotten about Whoopi voicing her! Maybe that was a conscientious choice for her hairstyle after all.
Your drawings always make me smile, but what makes me most happy is that you're doing whatever's right for you.^^ Even though you said you'd rather be writing than drawing, if you find drawing more fulfilling and satisfying after a long day of work, then that's what you gotta do.

Sparkz expression is so cute here and Shenzi turned out great. You worry about drawing the hyena, but it always turns out awesome. He looks so annoyed though with Sparkz. haha. Excellent my friend. Another great piece by you to add to my favorites. Woot.

Shenzi's trying to be all cool, but how can one look 'hard' when you've got a cute little guy like Sparkz posing next to you cramping your style?
and she wants to be annoyed with him, but at the same time... hw can you really be annoyed with Sparkz? thus the conflicted look of shallow disdain

The problem is that I'm not tired, which is bad because it's like 3 am over here. I really should try sleeping, but it's hard to sleep when you're not sleepy.

hahahaha it's not mean if you generally draw all your characters in drag (such as in Roy's case) but yeah i guess you doing it would be a bit odd, since dressing a girl in guys clothes is acceptable but it seems that the other way around is not.
i'm so busy at work now, but i have the urge to draw Sparkz Jack and Drago together, the two of 'em tormenting poor Drago with random happiness while he tries desperately to not smile.
and yeah, the best thing about this time of year for me is that i get to work myself literally until i pass out. the bad thing is it's not physically demanding work, but mentally demanding and thus, it takes a lot longer for me to get exhausted so i'll look at the clock and 16 hours have passed and i'm like "!!!"
otherwise, yes, me too, i can't force myself to sleep so i do whatever until i'm no longer conscious. XDDDDDD

I should probably draw some character in a drag one day. Just to see if anybody reacts to it and is like "wtf, she doesn't draw stuff like this usually??". I mean, it might cause the same kind of reaction as my one drawing did... I made a pretty... Violent-ish sketch (it didn't look that violent to me as I fail to draw violent stuff) and I showed it to one of my MSN friends and she thought I was somebody else because I don't draw stuff like that normally.
Really? That's a cute idea you have! It's funny, since my random idea that I mentioned earlier has Jack and Sparkz in it. I'll just have to see if I can make it work like I want... Well, you'll possibly see it today. If not today, maybe tomorrow. 
I actually couldn't really sleep last night. I kept on rolling on the bed... Oh well, that's nothing new.

i guess by the time i wake up after my shift it might be done, but no pressure, as it's your idea in the first place.
and just because you draw something that's not 'typical' of you (and other than cats, there's really no 'typical' for CHaRB in the first place) doesn't really matter as long as yu wanted to draw it.
gah! i wish i could draw it right now but i have about 17 more hours to go.

... i'm pretty sure this would be more of a non-canon "crush" Sparkz has on Shenzi, and thus, in an alternate existence, the ending to the movie didn't have to end up like the way it did. if it came down to it, Sparkz in said situation wouldn't give into the group mentality anyways, and being as how Socks is like an older brother to him and his crush on Shenzi is, at most superficial, Sparkz would likely do the old hackneyed trick of lying top of Scar looking at Shenzi and giving the puppy dog eyes (kitty cat eyes?) and that would make them stop... or not, in which case, Scar, Socks and Sparkz would run like hell to sanctuary.
Rafiki as their stylist sounds about right
