Description My friend asked me to draw her with her clone. They`re making up some cunning plan.
Aaaand this is one more unsuccessful try to draw a background. I`m still not used to making those. Again, if you have any tips for me, speak it out, I will be grateful.

The background isn't half so bad. It seems to be drawn too much with and around the figures though. You are working digitally, so to avoid this you can just make a second layer for the background and make the main layer(s) invisible. This way you will get a nice background which doesn't orientate on the main figures.
The effect of this orientation can be seen where the well/pond meets the characters and on the right it looks as if the tree doesn't want to get behind the other character.
Hope this somehow helpful
Cheers!

Oh, I see. So one more layer will help me to make the background and characters more independant... I`ll surely use your piece of advice, thank you!
But I understand that`s not my only mistake. I try to work with colors now and I see how background is kinda too bright, it flows together with the characters, there is not enough contrast and no harmony. And I don`t know how to improve my low skills - I`m really not used to all of it and have to start somewhere. I`m thinking about re-drawing sceneries and compositions from photos, but that seems like a wrong way to learn.
Thank you a lot one more time, I really appreciate tips and useful critiques (\^_^/)

The best piece of advice I can give you is to draw and not think about it too much. You only become a good skateboarder by skating bad for years and years
It is nice to know all about the rules of composition and so on, and sometimes it is better to neglect those rules.
If you continue to work mainly in digital form, then maybe you could try to make nice and detailed backgrounds that are too large for the actual characters. When you add the character layer to it, you can experiment with the composition by simply moving the layers around. Another trick a lot of people use is to make the background slightly more blueish and lighter than the foreground. The further off your objects are, the lighter they become. Less details in the background are also one of the many possibilities
Enjoy experimenting!
