Description
Crazy color study. Not trying to be ultra realistic somehow, just experimenting and combining different shades of pencils that can be found in the photo.Happy New Year fellaz!

I know you said you were playing with color, and I think you did a beautiful job with it here. The red around the eyes and along the edges of the fingers - as well as along the one knuckle - remind me so much of someone suffering from a malady. The thinner bits of chain look so much like worms, and the blue color, adding to the illusion of illness, also brings forth the imagery of a corpse. Combined with the eyes being absent of both pupil and iris, it certainly adds to the much darker aspects of the image.
The yellow tones to the skin definitely add to the feeling of decay. Intertwining the chains throughout, in both the skin and hair, help maintain the atmosphere you've established, as does the blackness within the mouth and the cracks extending outward from the corners of the mouth.
I absolutely love the veins sticking out, both along the neck, cheeks and forehead. The skull shape in the patter on the moth is a brilliant touch as well. Truly wonderful work - thanks so much for sharing it!

Thank you so much for this wonderful and positive feedback To be honest, I thought about choosing colors properly and the malady effect certainly wasn't random so I'm really glad that you noticed that!
Those worms surprised me a little bit but that's not bad, it goes well with the theme.
And I love those veins aswell, it's always fun to do them or bruises (poor character
)
Thank you so much for appreciation and your critique!

You're so very welcome! I'm glad that you stayed with this experiment rather than the more traditional colors - the end result is marvelous.
I imagine that veins and bruises can be as fun as they can be difficult to get just right. But you did so wonderfully - and I'm so very glad you shared this piece.

OMG! The colors, the veins, the hair, the details! You do magic with your pencils. I love how your choices of colors are audacious and yet they blend perfectly to create this beautiful vision of a nightmarish zombie.
I would love to see more "crazy" color studies!

It's good to admire what you've created and take a moment to appreciate what you've made, I believe.

It's so interesting! The way he's holding the mutated bug within his fingers, and the way his chains are all over him... I really love this zombie feeling.

Just in case you're interested, it's a death hawk moth (but it's not important at all ^^ ). And thank you so much, I'm glad that it amazes you!
because my parents were horrified.

I thought it was a moth. I just felt pretty ignorant guessing.
Oh goodness. I can imagine.
