This is one of the most stunning B/W photos I've seen this year, I love the object of it.
The contrast and the focus is so deliciously crisp.

I like this way better than in colour, the lack of colours adds a lot to the photo!

Perhaps some sharpening on the shell. You should also have done some lightening on the shadows and add some clarity to the higher tones.

But the composition is good indeed : )
